Getting off Percocet!!!

Hi, I was going to run out of my 5/325 percocets, so I tapered off over the last few days instead of taking as many as I normally would. I get 100 and their supposed to last a month.  Well I had months after my husband left and a back injury to where I just used them for a lift, so I could function!!!  Well today since I'm out and I know my doc will freak If I tell him I'm out I feel kind of chilled, my face is hot and I'm a little depressed and slightly anxious at the same time.  My last pill was pretty much 24 hours ago. I guess I want to know is this going to get worse, even though I tapered off for four day's?  Also I have ativan and I take that, but it doesn't seem to work like normal with these withdrawals.  Or maybe their working better than I think??  I also have Tremadol, which does nothing!!  Any help would be so appreciated!!!! Thanks---Joy

Thanks so much for posting me back.  It makes you feel so much better when your not alone in all this.  And no I wasn't taking anything longer acting, so that's good news.

Hi!  Glad you posted!

If it has been 24 hours since you had a pill, it probably won't get much worse.  But you said pretty much?  Does that mean that you have taken one?

Don't take the tramadol.  That will just prolong the WD, and tram is highly addictive.  It is a synthetic opiate, so it will hold off the WD.

The ativan should help, but be careful what you take during all of this.  It's easy to get addicted to other things.  Our brains recognize relief in any form!!!! : )

The total WD time should be around 3 to 5 days, unless you were taking anything longer acting than percocet.

You can do this, and your life is worth it!!!
