HELP

I've been presribed morphine and 5/325 Ps for the past year or so.. I take about 2 to 3 of the 5/325s a day and every once ins while a morphine..  I know its not a super high dose so withdrawal shouldn't be horrible.. but I do not want to get out of bed without taking one.. if I don't take them nothing is getting done I have 4 kids to take care of.. I could really use some help on the tapering? I have a terminal condition so some days I will be in tremendous abouts of pain id just like to get back to only needed them for the pain or not taking them at all

No worries,
I have no experience with your type of situation but someone on here most likely does so don't give up.  Keep checking back because it is slow on the weekends.

I just don't want to HAVE to take them everyday like I do.. I used to take them only for pain my painful level has gone up but not enough to justify me taking them everyday.. I've tried to talk to my doctor about it and he was more worried about the 5 pounds I've gained.. and honestly it should have been a good thing I gained weight.. I used to take steroids and I wasn't in pain when I was on them but my heart started to fail bcuz of the high steroid use so pain pills are really the only thing I can take.. if I can stop taking them everyday I can give them to my husband and he can give me them only when he knows I am in pain..  thought some could share there experience. with me so I know what to expect and how to handle it

What is the reason you have decided to quit.  I know that they are prescribed to you for a reason so I am wondering what made you decide to do this and what you are going to do for the pain afterwards.

Hi and welcome! We are not allowed to give specific tapering advice here, but you can find it.

I personally wouldn't stop on my own if I had a medical condition. Seeing the Dr and discussing it is the best option. Most won't judge, they'll be proud of you!

Some other members will be along shortly. I have no morphine experience.
