I just posted you again below, go read...
I tried the tapering thing also, this is how i got addicted all over again, i couldnt control myself. I started out the first day or so doing ok with the tapering, but now right back where i was. Everyone is different though, but for me, i like the feeling i got from those dang pills so tapering is OUT of the question for me, and i know for alot of others here it has NOT helped them. I say try c/t and take one day at a time or hour by hour...It is yukky feeling, but remember it DOES pass....I promise!!
Stay posting also, it does wonders talking about how and what you are feeling.
Hopeless
i think the fear of the unknown is a little scary to everyone...but know that you are in a good place here...a safe place.
you can do this jill...it is not going to be the easiest thing that you have ever done...but it can be done. try and not get yourself all worked up about it and just deal with each symptom as it arises. there are many things out there to help with each one, so head out in the morning and get these as soon as possible. keep posting when you feel the need to find out any more information or just need some support. there is always someone here to lend a helping hand or to calm your fears.
one day...you will probably be thankful that your husband flushed those pills. he may have just given you your freedom without even knowing it.
stay strong...it will be over soon

I agree with Lizzie. Your hubby, despite how mad you probably are right now, may have taken that much needed first step for you.. This may be what will save you from destroying yourself with pills. Maybe some day you will thank him..
Many have gone cold turkey from high doses of meds.. you are not the first.
You will survive.. There will probably be a few days were you will wish you were dead but I assure you that you will be ok and that these symptoms are only temporary. Try to get as much sleep as you can even if its just naps.. Get some OTC sleep aids.. not all of them work for everyone so get a few to try.
Immodium can help alot.. I have even read that taking a little more can help take the edge of other symptoms. Get some gatorade and vitamin water.. Bananas will help some with the runs and the RLS.. You can eat a few a day if needed.. I ate Cheerios for 3 days along with smoothie pops from my local juice place. I had very little appetite but I made myself eat and drink.. it really helped.. Get a B-vtamin complex.. will help with energy after a few days.. If I think of anything else i will post it here..
