Hi, just signed up, Klonopin and Suboxone..how long

History about myself, I hurt myself on the job and screwed my back up cracking or herniating, what ever it is.   All I know was it hurt horribley, so they ran test, and said take these:

-15mg of Roxycodone....as needed, eventually bumped up to 30mg
-60mg  of time released morphine

OH and the mother wonder drug
   SUBOXONE

^^^
No worries the other Doc told me. I saw things getting out of hand, I just couldn't stop with the Opiates.......Wait a minute if I would have done a little research I would have found out I'm just replacing one drug for another.

I really believe that "most" doctors now of days are just Pharmacist.  What happens when you go in.   " I feel some pain or this."  The kicker is they ask you if you want to try something?!?  I didn't go to 8 or what ever years of school to ask my patient what he or she wants to take.

This hell has really made me understand things better.   Life has a balance to to it, and if you mess with it the punishment begins  IE::

-Pain Killers... If you really don't need them, your body is going to make sure you understand that, and bring you to that pain for what how much your taking

-You over eat....Guess what your going to get fat, because that balance was not used correctly.  You consumed more then that natural balance needed.

We are a country of instant gratifications, quick fixes, and gluttony.  It just caught up with me.

BIG question, I was drinking like a fish the last couple of days and finally figured, that just seemed to prolong this out.  What am I looking at for a time frame, and I on the bottom stretch?  Also, I was given a script of Klonopin, to take the edge off and help me sleep for those wonderful 1-2 intervals.   Is it ok to take it, or will it just make things worse as well.  I was also told "Soma" can help, though ambien does nadda to me

How I feel:

-RLS almost gone, more of a nuisance (I was at the point of pounding my legs the first couple of night
-Insomina...meh: so so, I just think my body quits out for a while, but gawd is it hard to get up however when I                         do things feel a tad better
-The rolling chills in my body, I hate this the worst.  Is there anything to be done for this......yeah I know time
-Aches, knees and lower back, it ***** but has now become barable.

What do you think, how much more can this last, this is 5 days straight (I did drink a lot to try and numb the pain the 1-2 days?)

I completely agree with your statement that doctors are little more than pill pushers anymore.  My primary care doc, who I have been seeing for almost 15 years, was always good with writing a script for pain pills or whatever happened to be needed at the time.  Since then, I have found a few doctors that really talk to me about what is going on.  Usually it had been a 5 minute talk and then a handful of scripts.  I've never gotten scripts from more than one doc at a time and even had one doc give me two scripts that you are NEVER supposed to take at the same time.  I got to spend 3 weeks as a walking zombie and was in a very bad way.

I have no experience with the original meds that you were on, but 5 days in and of itself is a gigantic step.

Be careful with Klonopin....  Its a pretty powerful benzodiazepine with a half life of about around 30 hours.  It will stick in your system for a while so you can build up a plasma level higher than you expect over time.  And like all benzos, they can be addictive.  It will help with sleep and anxiety levels, so it may help out a lot there.

On the chills, it gets better over time...  I've been using hot showers.

Good luck and keep your chin up.

Matt
