Craving sweets?

Yesterday's weight gain post reminded me of something. I learned that people going through heroin w/d often crave sweets.  I have been craving sweets like CRAZY so I wonder if the same applies to "painers".  I'm not usually one to crave sweets or chocolate, but lately I can't get enough.  Any of you expieriencing this?

When I put myself in detox I made sure I brought plenty of "smarties" and sour sugar candies. Plus a ton of pistachios and beef jerky. I didnt eat their meals, they werent the greatest. When I told the nurse about my not being able to "go" they asked what Id been eating...I told them (and lemme add while telling them I started opening my eyes) LOTS of cheese   (DER!!!)  and tons of beej jerky. He told me (besides the obvious cheese thing) that protein will stop you from going. I didnt know that before so I did learn something new that day. If not many many other things I will never forget...

I am totally in agreeance with you on craving sweet during a "painers" detox. Just for the record, I went through 2 BOXES of Toaster Strudles day one through day three of my detox, lol! Thankfully, I am on day 7 now and the sweets cravings are gone. I think some of it had to do with the fact that i started my period on day one of detox, so it was double the sweets cravings. Are you anywhere close to that right now?

Seriously, I cannot stress how THANKFUL I am that this week is over, lol!

You will get through it too, just keep on keepin' on :)

I know that's pretty common.  I did crave them the last time I detoxed, but only for a short time...while my body was trying to get back to normal.  I'm not craving them this time, though...thank goodness!!  You can always come visit and satisfy your cravings!  I wrote a post a couple of days ago...I'm pasting it here for you.  It was hilarious!

My fiance made a late night grocery run last night.  I was asleep when he got home.  I just opened the pantry to get some creamer for my coffee and was appalled and amazed!   He is a sugar addict if I've ever seen one...

4 boxes of Ding Dongs
2 packs of Oreos
8 boxes of Pop-Tarts
3 Bags of Iced Animal Cookies
2 Bags of Iced Oatmeal Cookies
2 packs of Keebler Chocolate Grahams

2 packages of fresh Cinnamon Rolls on the Counter

And...just for good measure, I opened the freezer:

4 half gallons of Blue Bell Ice Cream
6 boxes of Push-ups
2 boxes of Ice-Cream sandwiches
3 boxes of Ice-Cream cones

Geez

And the worst part...he NEVER gains a pound!

And I thought I had a problem.  LOLOL

Have a great day!  Are you feeling better today??  I hope so!

xoxoxo
