I HATE XANAX.

hey y'all. I just need to vent, I'm dizzy, a little disoriented and have to keep working and acting like everything is normal when its not. I'M not. I know the doctor is tapering me too quickly, but I feel like I should just go along with it. Obviously my body has become dependent on xanax in just 8 months. what a ridiculous drug... I am really not looking forward to the next month. even the month after that... I hope these symptoms don't drag on forever for me, already going through enough with the norco withdrawal, mentally at this point. however, my stomach is still not quite normal yet...45 days later..?? I think I just have an irritable stomach, anxiety makes it worse, and I'm living in anxiety h3ll... did anyone else get stuck in a mess like this after opiate withdrawal? I knew I never should've upped my xanax dosage to help me off the opiates.. soooooo many warned me not to, and I didn't listen. STUPID.. if anyone else is thinking about taking benzos to help through opiate withdrawal, PLEASE don't. I'll give you ten reasons why you shouldn't. I hope everyone else is well!!! xo

Hmm... I do have also the muscle spams and cramps, basically in my upper back and the back of my neck, it feels like painful knots and also feels like my muscle are kinda of burning.I don't think -in my case- this is from the Xanax withdrawal since I'm weaning off very slowly:0.25mg out every 4 weeks, from 10mg to 12mg a day I'm now at 6.75mg a day and I can sleep quite well, I do not have anxiety neither.I think my muscle cramps and migraines are from the vicodin 5mg ( 2 or 3 daily) and the tramadol 50mg( same dose) that I quit cold turkey about 14 days ago.

Having the feeling of an "out of body exp" is a normal severe w/d symptom. Scary, huh? You did comment above that you were taking .25-.5 mg per day? Those doses really shouldn't give you that kind of w/d symptom, but if you were on them for more than 12 weeks (which you were) and took them religiously like clock work, then yes, it's hard to deal with. I'd call the doc and see whaat he/she suggests and if you need to get checked out. Xanax w/d is something you dont' want to mess with. I have a post from a few weeks back that list many of the severe side effects with a bezo w/d.

thanks for the support. I think the doctor is tapering me too fast. Are you supposed to feel withdrawals while tapering if its done the right way? I'm not feeling right. Not even an anxiety issue, just the dizziness and sensitivity to light and sound, almost out of body feeling.. weird! I can't wait to be done with this, but I don't want to feel like this. I feel like everyones looking at me weird at work and stuff.. I've told some of them whats up with me so they understand, however I don't think you can really understand unless you've been through it. I'm having weird muscle spasms and last night one of my fingers and one of my toes was tingling and numb. geez.. hope you're well today!! :)

sorry for the repetitive posts, my computer went hay wire for a few minutes, I guess I was subconsciously reiterating myself!

I hate Xanax too. I've taken it myself and I've seen many, many people have to deal with the aftermath of it. Doctor's prescribe it like its a quick cure all Flinstone Vitamin without telling patients how severe w/ds can be, that you CAN'T stop it cold turkey and how to taper off of the drug, it's ridiculous.
I too have had anxiety issues for years, most of it has to do with my busy and hectic lifestyle, I have stomach pains I can work myself to the point of nausea, rocks in my stomach, headaches, heart palpatations, so I feel your pain. I've learned how to deal and dealing with it while detoxing is not a walk in the park.  I wish you the best of luck and vent all you want, that's why this forum is here....
