Hi....well a lot of people ask this question and the answer iS NO.. methadone is a respiratory depressant and so are the bezo's together they make a deadly combo....almost all the methadone overdoses are from mixing the 2 so dont do it............Gnarly
Welcome :)
Congrats on your taper! Gnarly is right. It's not a good combo & most responsible Drs. won't prescribe the two together.
Here's the thing..you're probably @ a threshold dose if you've started to feel uncomfortable. My advice to you would be to stop your taper until you stabilize. I don't know how fast you dropped but with this drug, slow & easy wins the race. Try not to panic or get impatient. I know it's not fun but keep your eye on the prize! Complicating the issue with benzos is asking for a serious additional mess. They're highly addictive, hell to kick with a slew of additional symptoms & make your thinking & actions fuzzy & sometimes downright dangerous when mixed w/ M'done. I've seen it time & again -- when the haze starts to clear, we addicts have a habit of reaching for something pharmaceutical to 'wrap' ourselves in against the world. Please, don't go from the frying pan into the fire!
We're here & we're pulling for you :)
Really? I mean I've heard from a few of you and I get it and have already threw the val's away and replaced it w/ 100mg of Trazadone 1 hr before bedtime so at least I'm sleeping and it also works as an anti-dep so! But ALL OD's on methadone are due to using it w/ valium? Hmm? I thought most of them were from just taking way too much or even mixing it w/ alcohol. I get your point and thanks again gnarly_1!!
Please don't mix Valium with methadone, my boyfriend died just before Christmas, it's a dangerous cocktail, please, please don't do it
