It's been a while but I'm back at it again!

Hi all!  I've been on and off the site for about two years now and I'm going through the detox thing again!  This time it's methadone with use of suboxone.  I must say even with the sub the wd from methadone was the worst ever for the first few days!   I'm on day 5 now and feel better, just little sleep and loss of appetite now.  I've used the subs for oxy detox and had zero wd but this was unreal!  Anyone have the same experience?

Yes!   A quick taper, 1 week if I can!  I don't want to be on anything!  I've used the subs before and did very well with a quick taper but I seem to give in after about a month or so every time!   My relapses usually last a week or so but it puts me right back to the beginning!

I was told after 36 hours to take it!   That was the sub Dr.'s advice!  Yesterday was a struggle till about 11pm and I felt like I broke a fever then everything seemed to fall in place!  My arms felt light and normal , my head was clearer, the out of body feeling was gone but still couldn't sleep well.  Today is a total 180!  No where near 100% but a lot better!

You took it too soon. The switch is very tricky and can cause precipitated withdrawal which is probably what you were suffering from. Are you doing this yourself or are you under a doctor's care?

I waited 55 hours before taking the sub!  I was taking a lower dose if methadone to and only for week and couple days.  Saturday night I almost asked wife to take me to hospital!
