IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL FORUM PARTICIPANTS!!!

It has come to our attention that there are several people posting inappropriate comments in this forum.  If this does not cease, we will have to remove all of the threads, as we cannot simply remove one inappropriate comment. This will diminish the value of the forum for all participants.

We reiterate the rules of the forum which state clearly that all participants agree to:

1.  Not post or transmit any message which is defamatory, insulting, threatening, obscene, knowingly false or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person or otherwise violates the rights of third parties, such as through copyright or trade secret infringement;

2.  Not take any action which would disrupt the normal dialogue amongst users, such as through the transmission of viruses;

3.  Not solicit any other user for commercial sale, fund-raising and/or illegal purposes;

My fiancee is having a very difficult time with Paxil - it works for his aggressive, anxiety driven behavior but the inability to achieve orgasm has pushed him into trying to abruptly cease the medication with horrible consequences.  he is more aggressive, more paraniod and more socially anxious than ever.  is there a comparible anti-depressent to Paxil without the sexual side effects?  Please?

I agree that it is a shame that some people are posting inappropriate messages here especially in light of the fact that this is a place where so many people are looking for help with real problems.  Addiction is a serious problem and 99% of the people that post on this board are empathetic to that.  I've no doubt that the 1% that aren't interested in ways to recover but rather new ways to feed their addictions could find many sights on the net suited for just that.

New benzo detox manual released by C Ashton
The following letter was sent to ASAM and i thought to reprint it here for the benefit of all those out there with benzo problems.
-----------
You might like to post a link to this site advertising Prof Heather Ashton MD's
brand new manual on benzodiazepines.  You will not find a better work on this
subject than this as it is the result of 12 years experience running a benzo detox
clinic in England.

Perhaps you would order one and then you will see the fallacies of the Smith and
Wesson techniques that N American doctors use to withdraw their patients from
benzos.  Heather has had a 90% success rate.  David Smith's methods are
outdated and dangerous in my opinion.  I tried it and relapsed.

The proof is here and most works on benzos quote C. Ashton. here is your
opportunity to help lessen the  suffering that millions experience in N America by
their use of the Smith and Wesson 6 week phenobarbital substitution methods.
Everything in this manual
http://members.dencity.com/ashtonpapers/index.html
is carefully researched and easy for doctors and patients alike to understand and
work together on.  There is nothing in this manual that any doctor anywhere can
dispute as she is considered the worlds expert on the subject.  It is time for a
change in N America to bring it in line with what has been known and accepted
in other countries for years now, that the Ashton method of slow tapering is the
best way to go for almost all benzo problems.

There is  apparently some misinformation on your site about equivalencies and
this manual will help you to correct them.  Please have a look for yourself.
You will soon see this manual everywhere and it is going to be re-printed in a
new book soon to be published.  Although it has only been out for a couple of
months almost 200 copies have been ordered by doctors and patients alike all
over the world.  Soon there will be thousands of copies in circulation. I am telling
you this because it is bound to create waves in the industry but it is high time that
the detox industry learned something about benzos since most appear to know
very little from the feedback we get as a group.

Thank you

RMB

I would like to thank you for deleting the comments, since a large part of them were directed at me and I really like this type of forum.  It is one of the few places where I can feel like I'm not alone in this journey.  And to those who have offered theor thoughts, advice, and prayers, a very big thanks.  Only those who have lived this nightmare can relate to the effects it has on the family and friends watching helplessly.  So thank you one and all for the support, it means more than you will know.  Well maybe you do know

Since we all had to sign in initially to be able to post, is it not possible to sign off the troublemakers?

It would be a drastic shame to abolish this forum due to some jerks. The majority of us follow the rules and should not be punished. My suggestion to the group is to ignore something that is offensive. Name calling only brings you down to their level and fuels the fire!!
