Good luck and stay on here, there are a lot of people on here that have good ideas to help you through it all. Keep motivated, busy and get clonidine if you can, it will save you!! Take care
It's about an hour from appointment time. I can't believe I am about to do this. This is it. from today forward NO MORE DRUGS. I'm feeling better already. I'm not looking forward to WD's but I have been through it so many times that I know what to expect.
there are quite a few cocaine cowboys here hmmmm...good to hear another person say F this. Im done. I wish you the best David.
Good luck to you on this journey. It can be a hard one, but when you come out clean you will be happier then you have ever, ever been. We are here for you. Please continue to post and to let us know how your recovery is....

Thanks for the kind words. I was rescued off the streets by the Police actually and then got into a rehab. I grew up in South Florida (Stuart) on the east coast during the cocain cowboy days. It was easy for a homelss kid to get mixed up with the wrong crowd.
I will post my story one day. I can be a poster child for what starting drugs at 13 can do to you. I watch my daughter like a hawk for the signs and hopefully I am raising a daughter that can see the devestating things drugs can have on your life and she will make the right decisions.
Welcome and good luck with getting into this fight... Its a fight worth fighting... it will be hard for a few days til you get yourself back physically, but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.. The addiction counselor increases your odds at getting and staying clean for the long haul..
I also was a heroin addict as a teenager... I have been clean from heroin almost 8 years. Had a little over 2 year run with pills.. started out needing them for pain.. and then I went too far.. I have a little over 3 months off of them now and I will tell you it does feel great to not be controlled by a little pill everyday.. I do still have pain to deal with but i am finding new ways to deal with it everyday..
Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing..
XOXO
Stephanie
Congratulations on making the decision to quit! Great for you!
It's good that you've already made an appointment with an addiction counselor...that will help.
My best advice is to be prepared and it sounds like you already are. Having kicked Heroin, I'm sure you are well aware of the withdrawals...not that they will be as bad as Heroin w/ds, most likely. Just remember, the physical part does not last long.
Keep posting and let us know how you're doing, please.
Rosie
Thank you for sharing your story, as well as MINE.
