Morphine and tapering

I would appreciate some help in regard to morphine.  A friend of mine is taking 5 a day (pills, 30mg each) over the last two years after a shoulder injury.  She tried cold turkey, and it did not work.  She is now considering tapering.  I don't know if they are slow or fast release, but I can find out. The doctor tried to switch her to norcos but that didn't work.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

no prob, good luck .....................i have been taking lots of supplements since my detox and im feeling great... saw my natural doctor and on some great stuff that the opiates ROBBED MY BODY OF... think about a natural doctor...........im not granola .........never have been........but its working and that is what matters. our bodies are fearfully and woderfully made by a wonderful and merciful creator ..........remember,...........he knows what your body needs...............taste and see that the Lord is good..........

Morphine is a terrible one to quit ct....and I doubt that the Doc would want to prescribe enough Norco's to do the job...make certain the taper is long and slow....nausea and vomiting are solid w/d symptoms. Stay well hydrated unless you like your fluid I.V. - most of the MS prescribed outpatient these days is MSContin - morphine sulfate continuos release.

wowo thats a tough one............my addictions started with an inocent enough surgery and six years later i was doing some pretty out of character stuff to keep feeding my addictions. cold turkey is the only way for me but there are  a lot of ppl here who have successfully tapered. the question is

is your friend willing to get off and be honest and get the help they need.?
