Suboxone. Tell me the good, bad and ugly

It's been approx. 2 mths since I posted here.  I've been on Hydros for 3 years and just cant seem to quit on my own.  I've gotten down to 1 pill a day, which I break in half, but cant seem to get over the hump.  I'm a Type A, high strung, person and it seems that when I take half a pill they calm me down.  I HATE THESE DAMN THINGS!

My question is.....I need all of you to tell me the pro's and con's of Suboxone.  There is a local Sub doctor I can visit but I want as much info as I can get before I go see him.  One question is if this doc prescribes me Sub does that go on some kind of record?  The industry I work in is VERY cautious of these type things.  Lets just say I work in transportation industry.  

I do know that Sub wont show up on a drug screen..I just dont want my name showing up on a list somewhere.

I can't imagine a doctor putting you on sub for 1 pill a day.....just make the leap.......it will be virtually no withdrawal, but maybe a anti-depressant for a while......that was my mistake.  I quit at pretty much the same as where you are, and had virtually no physical withdrawal, now at about day 16 I felt it hard....the mental.  If you can handle 1 pill a day then I don't see the big deal unless you feel it can lead u into the average 15-20......like it did for me, but i am back on track and doing things very different this time.  Good luck.

HELLO... well i am on suboxone, long term maintenance. i have no complaints yet. i had a rough transition because i was coming off methadone, but other than that it has literally saved my life.  but also know it still takes commitment, you have to be done chasing the high and committed to that. also you should really be in therapy to find out what your core issues are, why you abused and turned to addiction. taking a pill to get through withdrawals does not fix the underlying issues. i take 12 mgs daily and go to weekly therapy. i have ALOT of information on suboxone in my profile, and links to good site.  is there anything particular you wanted to know?

I am starting the treatment tonight and i will keep you posted....
