I jusst wanted to thank everyone for their support.  I've been tapering off methadone for awhile now and am finally at the end, well really the beginning.  anyway I leave tomorow and am ready.  I've been feeling a little sick so I'm ready.

You'll be surprised to see how great rehab actually is. Mostly because you will be surrounded by others going through exactly the same thing as you are, and therefore you will have 24 hour support. You will also have no choice but to go to meetings and things cause you won't be able to back out if you "don't feel like it". I myself didn't even wanna leave rehab when it was time to go...thats how great it was for me. I wish you the best of luck!

Detox should be the first week then 21 days of drug rehab to follow....you will come home clean and then will face the choice of using again or going into recovery..........
28 days is like a second in time.........

you obviously have never been in a state run detox facility (LOL). I have never tasted the most rotten food in my life, and the place had the most bizarre smell. If I ever get a wiff again in my life I will projectile vomit..

I met some neat people in detox and developed longtime friendships.   Heck, afterwards a bunch of us moved into this huge house together and we used to read our meditation book in the morning together.  It was so cool.  

I wish you the best and congratualte you on your decision to get clean.  I dont know if it is a 12 step based program or what, but whatever they teach you, pay close attentiont to the aftercare part.  It is so crucial.

That is so wonderful!  And DO have fun in there...keep a positive mindset and learn all you can from the people and medical staff.  Rehab can be terrible the first few days (because of the withdrawal) but then it can have great moments!  And it will be what you make of it.  I have been in 3 times and have found each time that I am ready to leave (I hate the restrictive atmosphere...mostly the smoking thing) but LOVE being with people who I can relate to and can relate to me.  And there are many, many funny and fun moments.

So...get better and enjoy it.  It's the beginning of your new life!

I'll pray for you and hope to hear from you when you get out!

Detox is the way to go.....you'll do fine, and actually enjoy it! They help you concentrate on getting well, there's fellowship, meetings, people there that share your pain...and might i add....great food! I ate so much.....and, you may not be there 28 days...I think insurance reduced it to 14, but thats plenty of time to get off the drugs, talk and share, learn about yourself, and eat! I'll be there for at least 28 days.   I think they will detox me over two weeks then I'll stay another two weeks.  

I'm hopeful that all will go well.

Good luck ,hun you will be fine going to detox is the best thing you can do for yourself . Post when ya get out let us know how everything went .we will be here.

I wish you the best.   I think with methadone professional detox is the best answer.    I read that in some of my pamphlets I picked up.

Please know I am here supporting you and anxious to hear all about your stay.   Now, do they do the 7 day detox or do they do the 30 day detox with inpatient followup?
