On Suboxone 2MG for 13 hours now

Hello,

After being addicted to painkillers for 4-5 years now, I got encouragement from my family to quit.
I tried several times to quit, but could never make it past that 4th day. Since I only took anywhere from 5MG-60MG max of Vicodon/Norco a day, I did not think my detox would be that bad….Boy was I wrong!
I’m not going to go into the pains of my WD, as I believe most of you know how that feels.

Knowing that I need help, my Mom spent several days researching Doctors and finally found a place to take me for help. The Doctor has put me on Suboxone 2MG for nine days, along with a few other medicines.

I am 32 hours clean, with 13 of those hours being on the Suboxone. I can tell you now that I feel very little detoxing pains. I have no sweats, no cramps, not nothing.

I do however have a very bad headache and no energy what so ever. In fact it has taken me over an hour just to write this…lol

Anyways, does anyone have experience with Suboxone, around 2MG. Is it normal to have the headache and loss of energy?

Also, thank goodness for the Suboxone, as I have little to no WD on day one, but when will I just stop thinking about Hydrocodone?

Hi,
Suboxone does have some side effects, but when I was on it for two years I felt great!!! When I went off I messed up again due to some things that happen in life (an excuse really) BUT anyhow I am going back to the doctor again today and cant wait! I am going back on Suboxone and I know this time I cannot surround myself by negative people... I am going to continue on this forum, it seems to really help me! Also, if anyone is having any depression, talk to the doctor about medications.. I am on Prozac and it works wonders for my depression and OCD...

Lack of energy is very normal on Suboxone. I had less than zero energy while on it. 2mg's is still a high dose when it comes to blocking the w/drawal symptoms of a 50-60mg/day hydro habit, (very small), but still may be too low for you, causing the headaches, although the only time I ever heard of someone getting headaches on Subs was when they took it improperly, ie. shot it. For most people detoxing off Subs, 2mg's is when the w/drawals kick in. Usually drs will either over or under-medicate with Subs when people first start out. Never in the middle. Don't ask why. Did you and your dr work on a maintenance schedule or taper plan? Best place to learn about Suboxone is on Suboxforum.com. It's set up very well to help answer ?'s and help you through your detox when time comes. Large community with 99% on Subs or were on Subs. As for the cravings, those sometimes never go away. You just have to learn to get past them when they come. FYI, Suboxone detox isn't as nasty as hydro, but it will last 10x's longer. Any maintence drug is good to get on if you keep relapsing or have a large habit, but are overkill if you think you can get through 2 weeks of hell and then stay clean after. For what it's worth, I used methadone then Suboxone to quit my habit of H, but that was a for a very large addiction.
