HI EVERYONE!!

I haven't logged on in a long time. I really miss the group. This has been a crazy crazy summer. Very busy, which is good. For me, not using, so I have to say Yeah me. Sorry I am just glad. Anyway, I do have a question for the experts..;;; I know this going to sound like me, but I promise it is not. I have a customer that just got a rotator cuff fixed and the doc put him on a low dose of Perceset. I think he said 2mg, not for sure if that is right. I have no experience with this drug, so I don't even think I spelled it right. Anyway, he has been taking 2 in the morning and 2 at night for 3 days now. He said it makes his stomach hurt and he feels very high. In fact he is scared of it. He is not taking anymore, and is going to ask his doctor for something else. My question is he has had some vicodin experience, but not these either. He said the doc told him these were not as strong, so he filled his script. If he quits now after about 6 or so pills, will he have any withdrawals or any problems? He is speaking at Church Sunday, and does not want to be going through anything. Also, is that true. Are vics strong than perceset? Any advice would be great.

I had the same surgery. It is one of the most painful things you can experience. In fact, my other shoulder probably needs the procedure but I'm avoiding it for as long as possible. Anyway, my doc gave me percs; they upset my stomach so I was switched to Norco. IF I was a normal person I would have been off the meds in two weeks or less. (That's another story).
So - the long winded answer is he will probably be ok after a few percs; switching to Vic's for a week would probably work, but all should be reviewed with his doc.  How good a friend? Will you be exposed to his meds? Could be dangerous.

Has he tried ibuprofen? Can he handle the pain, if he immobilizes it and uses OTC meds. Sara is right, the rest doesn't matter. If he's high or feeling sick, he should stop and shouldn't have problems with withdrawal. I dislocated my shoulder and took pain meds, it made it take longer to heal, because the warning pain didn't stop me from pushing too hard. Pain has a very important role in our healing.

Hi Chad, nice to see you!!

The only thing i am going to answer about is your friend and how he should be feeling taking only 6 tabs.  He will be just fine.  I hope he will get rid of the rest of his script so it isnt laying around.  As for the other question?  Doesnt matter!!

How are you feeling otherwise?
