Percocet

I have a person in my life that is addicted to Percocet and she says she has recentely stopped taking it cold turkey.  I know she was writing her own perscritpions for it because she used to work in a doctors office.  She was stopped at a local pharmacy, by a police officer before she could pick up a refill that she had called in. He said he was turning the case over to the D.A.'s office. My question is what happens to her now? She hasn't heard anything and she is scared. Will her kids get taken away? Will she go to jail?

you should probably listen to 413. The length of the investigation may be affected by the town you live in,small town or large,,lots of crime or little. Everyones right about getting into rehab voluntarrily, the police and judge will look on that favorably

Because I had almost the same thing happen to me I will brief you on my situation: I have (HAD) a pharmacy degree, and was doing the exact same thing, calling in my own scripts. I got busted, I actually turned myself in/regardless... it takes a long time to investigate. The best thing your friend can do is go to rehnad, and help HERSELF... forget about the charges right now, it took 6 months for me to finally get charged. Yes I had jail time ... 14 days... I was facing 140 YEARS!! An d I was out on felony probation for 5 years..and screwed that up after 1 year. I hadn't lost my kids until I messed up on probation by drinking. I was sent to prison for 6 1/2 months, when I got out I had 3 years parole, went through a major custody battle, got my children back, and have re-started my life. In the mean time I have had 2 surgeries, and have chronic TMJ, now have braces and have been taking pain pills for the pain... does not work for addicts.. WE ALL get addicted right over again, so here I am now... going on 3 weeks clean.
I wish your friend well, she needs to concentrate on HER/HIM, and be honest. Being honest was the best thing I could have ever done.
Good luck

I have done what your friend is done that is how I know there will be two felonies charged to her......
one will be for possesion and the other for fraud.....the 4 and 5 are degrees of felonies.......

because the cop was there he was taking a report from the Phamacist....she does not have much time there coming  (cops) to arrest her soon probably a week or two tops she needs to make some arrangements before they get there.............

If she can and this is her first offense get into a drug rehab on her own the judge will appreciate that .........

It was an officer not a detective....she isn't a single mom and she does have a plan for her kids.  What is an F-4 and a F-5?

Not sure what they will do. First offence hopefully.  I would say it's very important she stay clean. Others will be on forum soon. Someone else might know more.
