Pregnancy and Recovery

I am so surprised to actually get the honor of posting a question!

I am 7.5 weeks pregnant and in the midst of tapering off of hydrocodone 10/325.  I have been to a high risk specialist for the dependence and have been reassured at this early in the pregnancy and with the dosages I was taking that there is no greater risk to this baby for birth defects.  Relief.

Post taper, I am on a regimine next week that includes Stadol NS x 3 day for 5 days, along with phenergen.  Do you think that any withdrawals I could have will be handled by this regimine for withdrawals?  My fear is that even though I have tapered successfully, the withdrawals could cause miscarriage.  I am so scared of this I almost don't want to stop the medication.

Also, I leveled with my OB who sent me to the specialist.  He has refused to take me back even though the specialist says this is not a high-risk pregnancy.  What if anything can I tell my OB to reassure him that caring for me is the best thing for me mentally and emotionally.  I trusted and respected my OB immensely -- that's why I told him.  Any words here to help me discuss this with him or just move on to a new dr are greatly appreciated.

there is a chance of miscarriage before 14 weeks for many women, and there are more miscarriages that happen that we think are just heavy menstruating... my point is, it is impossible to tell if you will miscarry b/c of w/d. i understand your concern though. i believe that you are doing the right thing by getting off of narcotics at this time. but i don't really know how risky it is or anything...

as for your doctor, it could be that he is afraid to treat you b/c of your addiction and he doesn't want the liability or maybe he is just trying to get you the best care possible and he/she doesn't think that he/she is the best doctor for you now. i don't know... my ex b/f is an ob/gyn and i have heard so much about liability it is a shame. but he is an old hippy doc and would be scared away by what is going on with you.

good luck to you!!!!!

Why don't you try drugabuse.com?  We have some neat people over there, lots of them your age. Have you tried the forums, they posted on here.  Jack, Nana and a lot of folks are there.  Goldden1 also has an "Ultram" board going.  It is new, but I think it is going to be a good one.  Aren't you friends with KimH, she is everywhere.  I call her the "Roadrunner", because I can never keep up with her. She is so cute,I love her.  She is "sweetthang" on drugabuse.com.  Hang in there, everyone loves you and will be there for you.
Take care,
Sandy

I just saw down on the board, Mrs.Rat has Ezboard, go over there.  I signed up, I haven't posted yet, but I keep reading and it is a neat place.  You can even put your picture up. I die at all of our names, we sound like a bunch of "looney-toons", but it's fun. I am just concerned about you, because I've kept up with your posts and you sound really down.  Hope we meet one day. Keep posting!

The Forum doc gave great advise Sweetie...listen to him and as they say "Just do it"!  You CAN do it!

Your baby will be fine, you will be fine...just stay the course and make it happen.  Our minds are powerful things and we can talk ourselves into anything!  Imagine everything possitive.  Imagine you getting off the drugs. Imagine your pregnancy going great.  Imagine finding a doctor that believes in you and helps you all along the way.  Imagine your baby being born perfectly healthy and strong.

Everything is going to be just fine.

Hold your head up high...take the high road...be strong and stay possitive.

We love you....

Peace,
Nana

Here is the link to my board:  http://pub21.ezboard.com/baddictionsupportforum  It is a pain and addiction board and has been up and running for almost a year now.  I was going to wait until the last day to post this, but I figured to do it a day earlier.  I didn't want to make it into some sort of contest or anything.

Hi everyone.   Someone please help me. When I've registered my new account at ezboard, I'm not receiving my email confirmation. Am I supposed to have a ezboard email account? I gave my aol email address. I'm getting very anxious... I don't want to loose touch with all of you.

Thanx so much,

Sharon

You should get a confirmation email at the address you gave ezboard when you registered.  You clink the link they have in their email and then the process is complete.  From there, you are good to go.

If you aren't getting a confirmation notice, you might have to re-register again.  That notice is a very important thing.  Once you are a member, ezboard does have some sort of a message system set up.  But, you won't even have access to that until after the confirmation deal is complete.

Sigh.....I've registered so many times.....I'm told either my account already exists or  I don't have a global account. I'm doing something wrong....it seems such a simple task, I don't know what to do at this point. : (
