Question About Some Of The w/d symtoms

Ok...now I have been through this once before...although I did not have to suffer entirely as I had my friend hold my pills...so I had a taper schedule, still had some w/ds. I did right before that though TRY c/t, and it scared the **** out of me! Now...I have 5 pills left, which I am leaving untouched, right now. Maybe even knowing they are here will help my mind ease some..who knows.
I see about the Hot Showers, electric blankets.etc.
Now when we are having the sweats so bad..I mean I get to where I am soaking wet...shirt/pillow/hair..you all know. Well then I also get those COLD sweats..now the shower thing I hear is for aches and pains...what can we do to min. the sweats? Does the shower help with those too? When I tried c/t and even on my taper a shower I just could not even make myself get into. I just sat and cried..and typed on here.
CONT'D.....

Hi hun,,well here we are again,,I am in the same boat,,the last time was pretty rough for me,,ughhhh,,sick,,I thought I was going to die,,today is my first day of detox and its ughhhhh,,honestly we can all say this and that but honestly hun ,,the body has to do what it has to do,,we can feed it whatever we want but it is going to whatever it wants. My worst  symptom is sleepless,,I just can't sleep during the first week,(right now for me) The only thing that seems to help a little is flexeril (muscle relaxer) for sleep and thats only for a couple of hours then you wake up in cold sweats...You just have to grin and bear it,,,,there is NO EASY WAY....everyone can give you suggestions but if you are an abuser and you dont have none you are going to hit the withdrawl stages,,,,anyways,,now I am exhausted and I hate this **** but I too am an addict,,,bugzz

I know this sounds nuts but when i did try to go c/t and all my best friend in the world was the tanning bed, as crazy as that sounds it helped me immensley just to lay there in that heat and yes you still sweat but it feels so good on the muscles and feels good to get all the toxins out and damn by the end of the week I was a pretty (tan) good looking female in withdrawls (lol) although I guess I look silly in the middle of a Michigan winter with some fake bake on like I have been to the isle LOL

I know you got alot going on right now..Yes this is all normal.  I havent found anything to stop the sweats but the showers.  When I didnt have the energy then in between I would cry why running a bath and I would try to get it as hot as I could take it with epsom salts when I got in.  If you dont have epsom salts then just make it hot.  I asked my doctor about the valerim root (cant spell), and he said the reason why you should not take it with a antidepressant is because nobody has spent millions on testing it to see if you would be ok mixing the two, but, I know a few people right now taking it that are on anti-depressants.  You know the drill, tylenol, ibuprophen, lol.  I was also using exedrin mygraine, I tried everything, Ulrtam did not do anything for me.  What about a trip to the dollar store for some ben-gay or some knock off for your hand. Heating pad, heating blanket, hot water bottle,lol... I wish I had a magic cure, If I did then I wouldnt be having the bugs crawling right now.  Rest when you can, when you cant then get on this site you know everybody is here for you.. Talk to you later today,, Good luck,,

rest when you can. even if you can't sleep at night naps will help.  i would check again on the valerian root. i took the liquid kind while on Lexapro. i think its st johns wort that causes a reaction with an SSRI. the liquid will let you sleep within an hour. i will be back tonight to check in on you and creek and let you all know how my endodontist appt went today.

hugs, stephanie

im close to the end of my withdrawal symptoms.  it has been tough, but there is light now.  ive been cold turkey for a week now after breaking an arm and repair surgery (on new years day, no less).  the hardest symptom for me to deal with was depression.  i can handle the body aches and headaches, but when depressed, i dont want to anything but sit in front of my computer or tv.

i have found a couple things that have helped me through.  yes the sweating sucks.  i wake up in fetal position soaked from sweat and cold as hell.  if i just get up and change clothes, im able to warm up again get back to sleep.

i think one of the most important things to do is listen to your body.  if you feel like having a hot shower, do it!  it helped me to sit in direct sunlight for 20 minutes a couple times a day.  i have been craving meat, probably because my body needs the protein for repairing.  i have called my wife several times a day from work just to talk to someone, perhaps i need a little sympathy or understanding.  i have been taking vitamins and herbs.  vitamin b helps alot, as well as E, probably C too because i think withdrawal weakens the immune system.  the last thing you want, im sure, is to get sick.  i had some alfalfa tablets lying around which helps clean the body out.  drink alot of water too.  if you just do what your body is asking for, it will help immensely.  xanax helped a little, and in the evening after the kids are in bed, i would drink a beer or two (maybe not a great thing to suggest to someone recovering) and it would help relax me for a couple hours.  just be sure not to trade habbits.  i know this time period is tough, but in a week or so, you should be on the downhill end.  good luck

I am not in that great of a posistion financially, gee I wonder why! But I do have alot of things here at home.
I suffer anxiety/panic disorder and major depression. So I have clonazepam ( a benzo) ...a beta blocker (same as blood pressure med) and of course anti-depressant.
But..I noticed my clonazepam and beta blocker do not seem to work all that great...and I really would hate to take more than I am suppose to. I have though taken one in the afternoon during alot of this with the meds. I am suppose to take 2/day.. they are .5's.
But I will take one at bedtime if I have to. I also have muscle relaxers, which I hope will work for that restfull leg sh*T. I get so aggrivated that I could punch a hole in the wall. I also get like winded and my heart races. ??? This normal too?
Now what I want to know is...what are my best options to remain "somewhat" comfortbale with what I have at hand? The pain is excruciating but I am more afraid of the w/ds than I am of my pain. Makes no sence does it? But its true.
So..if I am sweating so bad..will a hot shower help? Or what is my best route here...I really want to be prepared and I have read the Thomas recipes, etc..but like I said financially I am in a bind for the rest of this month. So what can I do with what I have here? I also have a multi I take daily and a bcomplex vitamin. I got some valerian root but pharmacist said that is a nono with the antidepressant and some of the meds I currently take, so I have to be careful there as well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you all!
Tracy

Remember your body is dumping tons of toxics, in detox the showers ran non-stop 24-7

I think feeling clean is just a good thing regardless, some used cold not me the hotter the better.

I think what ever helps is good, even if it is sitting and crying I've been there too.

that Hylands Restful legs tabs helped alot..and they are  cheap at walgreens like 5 bucks for 50. i dont recall that valerian is bad to take with an ssri. i would double check on it. i like the liquid valerain personally. works fast. lots of fluids.. other than that i think you can do this with what you have. i will be thinking of you thru out the day. and will check in tonight when i get home around 8. anything you need sweetpea..just ask..
