I checked with my pediatrician and my Aunt who is a dr and this is ust another case of it happening to one or two children, even a few, and everyone freaking out about it.
SJS is a reaction to medication. It can happen to anyone taking absolutely any medication. It mostly occurs in elderly patients and those people who have AIDS.
They have to relase statements to cover themselves IN CASE it happens to another child but it's probably not the medication itself.
I'm quite comfortable giving children's motrin to my daughter. It's not an every day occurance but I give it to her nonetheless.
Children's motrin has been around for years and this is the first we're hearing of this.
We live in a society of fear.
