To All

Hi All -

I talked with a psychiatrist on the phone last night that deals with addiction.  I am going to visit him in two weeks.  He says there are two ways to stop abusing pills - one is slow and a bit painful and then he said he could put me in the hospital for 5 days and I would have no withdrawals.  I did not get into details, but does anyone know about a five day inpatient detox where you do not go through withdrawals?

Just curious.......If I do this, I will have to wait until July when my son will be at away camp.

I am assuming it would be a medical detox where they wean you with something.. like suboxone or methodone.. 5 days is a little fast for methodone though.. they would probably just make you comfortable with meds and wean you..

I'm trying to find some more info on this sort of thing.  My habit isn't bad..6 (sometimes 8) vicoprofins/day and occasionally (when I'm out of vics) a 20m oxy.  I'm trying to cut down on the vics and it just isn't going well and I know I can't handle ct.  But..I've got to get off
these things.  Not as bad as others in here (you have my thoughts and prayers) but nonetheless, a problem for me and increasingly life in general.
