Oh dear, I think I'm finally getting tired. This is a very old question. It needs to be bumped out of the queue...PTB for MH Forum please :-)
Some people recommend using Ben Gay on your legs and then swaddling them in towels. I actually have something called Voltaren Gel and I was using that on my legs along with the Hylands Restless Leg tablets and it helped. Much less pain...the RLS didn't do much but I've always had RLS even as a small child so I didn't expect it too. Also, wrap a heating pad around the part of the leg that hurts. Take those very hot epsom salt baths too....sooooo soothing. I took a bunch of those and it also has the benefit of soaking out some of opiate toxins!
I took a lot of hot baths and did yoga everyday. The yoga stretched my muscles in my legs and it really helped. I have a picture of a basic yoga routine on my profile.
It is RLS....and its a *****. The weird thing. I get rls so I take tramadol, but the kicker here is tramadol once u r addicted (body wise), then it causes rls. So gor me then I would take more tramadol to get yhe awful rls to go away.....it is tough. And even the books show no specific rls med. Saying instead opiods may help...so whatcha gonna do. I take 7 tram 3x a day. I can honestly say that I eont take tram anymore just for habit, but if rls comes I need tramadol, just in much lower dose. I am hoping that will gradually rid me of rls, and thus the tramadol. Like everyone else, I want my life back!....
I think, for me, that is the worst w/d pain....in my legs. I hate it. The times I have quit using, it was always my legs that hurt....like a deep pain, can't stop moving them. Hot baths and 800mg of Ibuprofin helped me greatly. My previous doc told me I had RLS (restless leg syndrome) but I knew it was the w/d.
But really try hot baths and some OTC pain reliever. Hope it helps.
What kind of pain? PM avisg. She may know something to help you.
