Some lyrics to share

We all have our ways of coping with our addictions, our lives, the pain we all have inside.  We all seek relief, escape, and try lots of forms of therapy.  One form of therapy that works for me is writing - specifically lyrics - which as a collection tell the story of my life and my descent to the dark place we have all been (or are still).

Every now & then I get the urge to share my lyrics for an unknown reason, normally I don't. Too many people judge harshly and THAT I do not need.  When I get the urge and have followed it in the past I have found that there was just ONE person out there who read them and somehow found inspiration, or release, or in some way were helped knowing someone else out there was suffering the same exact way they were.  I remember clearly the first day I realized just -1- other person was suffering with self-loathing the way I do - I was in shock, in a good way.

Enough rambling - I'd like to share some lyrics with my new friends/family here. If they offend anyone I humbly beg forgiveness.
This is a song I've recorded and perform frequently.

I hope just 1 person out there enjoys the reading.

They are only true words, usually what could happen if we don't get a grip on our lives...a wake up call!!

You are a wonderful writer,lyrics.  Do you sing/play what instrument?

Sounds good to me....now to write more positive reply to your CURE lyrics????  Like adding a "D" to the end of CURE!!!!

THANK YOU for the kind words all of you.
I'm glad you enjoyed my lyrics.
They're kinda sad I suppose, but we all deal with the darkness at some point.

CanToo- I agree, and I've written a few songs that were much more positive, but not many! I can only write what I feel and as long as I've been writing these lyrics I've only ever been in a dark place. I do hope that someday soon I can get back to enjoying life and loving myself, and then, the lyrics will reflect it!

Oh- and yes, I perform the songs. I am a singer and also play piano and drums although not very well on any of those!  I don't pretend to be a professional or anyone who's gifted, I just write about my life and sing from my heart. Maybe that's all it takes.
