Suboxone help

I quit sub after a years use at 4 m. Know I jumped off of a pretty high dose but I have to have surgery and was ready to quit anyway. Not quite ready for this tho. I'm on my 7th day of pretty intense withdrawls. Any insight as to how much longer this might take? Might help "gird my loins".  thanks

72 hours is the rule to begin to "really feel sub wd"  but for many to feel intense wd it  is more like 4-6 days as sub has a long half life..it literally sticks around

sub wds from what i have read and studied..last up to weeks vs one week or less for other narcotics...and as eagle said..the mental part..fatigue, depression and oss of motivation can take 3 mths or more depnding on factors such as time of use and dose..it takes 90 days minimum for the brain to heal/accept the fact that u r not gonna feed it anymore endorphins...and the brain will catch up...but the rule is 90 days minimum for mental wds..physical wd time is much less

at 7 days/being half way there concerning physicl wds..again we r all different and u jumped off at a higher amount than most..but i feel ur pain..when u r done..u r just frickin done..it would be silly at 7 days to go back and taper now

If u can hang then do so..no subs or narcs in ur house..aftercare is crucial right now cos u will feel weak often for a while..find a meeting/be it AA or NA near u/both r similar/and many r cross addicted via alcohol and pills..i felt at home at both groups but preferred an AA group I found after meeting hopping for over a month

the health pages..to ur left.. can help alot..the thomas reipe can help as u r in narcotic wd right now...look at the health pages and the aminos that can help ur brain  heal...exercise is the quickest and easiest way to force ur brain to produce sorely needed endorphins..lots of articles on sub wd too in the health pages...read, learn, and keep posting

I stopped at 4m 8 days ago and I am starting to feel a little better. Thanks for all of the help - I really appreciate the input!

Sub has a long half life so even after your last dose it takes 4 to 5 days for w/d to start bad...What dose was it that you were on?

ohhh boy that is a high jump? When is your surgery and does the doctor know you were just on sub . Eagle info is pretty much right on it seems like everybody's WD is different .Just make sure the doctors know you were on it because it can change the dosage of meds you need durning surgery .

Acute withdrawals may last up to several weeks..........with sub acute withdrawals (mental fog and depression/anxiety) lasting from 6-12 months.........these times are usually maximums........but there are always exceptions............and every person is unique and different to themselves...........
