There is a trick to this.  May not be for everyone, but it helps enormously.
Get some Ritalin, Adderall, Dexadrine, anything prescribed for ADD (Attention Defasite Disorder).  Everyone has ADD, just ask a shrink.
These are mild amphetamines and may be addictive, but of course not used just for just a couple weeks.
Use the Thomas Recipe (vitamines and supplements are imperitive).  An take as many amphetamines as you need to get up andgo and relieve the pain in your head (5,6,7 a day).  It works on both body and head.  You will be up all night (maybe for 3-4 days), but you're going to be up anyway.  Might as well be pain free and able to concentrate on something.
After a few days you will dream of sleep.  Stop taking them.  Continue with the Vitamines and supplements, and EXERCISE as much as possible.
You will get thru this.  If you still have symtoms, take more for a couple days.

thanks for the advice knowing other people had made it through this alive helps haha....i keep thinking about the suboxone but not in the right way...i think hey i can go eat pills for another year and then go take subs and be fine...and i know that is definetly not the case...i was taking oxycodone 30mg pills 7-8 a day.  i was in a horrible car accident and started on demerol from the doc....about 4-6 months later they stopped being prescribed and i went to the 30mg ones where my tolerance jumped through the roof.  im not allowed to work right now because the accident my body hurts so much more without the pain killers....but id rather be in pain then throw my life down the drain.

Day 13?  You are very early and depression and insomnia are to be expected.  I would suggest 2 things: 1) start going to AA and or NA meetings; and 2) get the book END YOUR ADDICTION NOW, by Charles Gant.

Both AA and NA recommend that new folks hit a meeting a day for the first 90 days,  According to a recent article in Time Magazine, there's a sound, scientific basis for this advice: "One important discovery: evidence is building to support the 90-day rehabilitation model, which was stumbled upon by AA (new members are advised to attend a meeting a day for the first 90 days) and is the duration of a typical stint in a drug-treatment program. It turns out that this is just about how long it takes for the brain to reset itself and shake off the immediate influence of a drug. Researchers at Yale University have documented what they call the sleeper effect--a gradual re-engaging of proper decision making and analytical functions in the brain's prefrontal cortex--after an addict has abstained for at least 90 days." See http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1640436-3,00.html

If you look at that article you'll also see that it speaks of neurotransmitter imbalances, which are being shown to be not just a result of addiction, but a cause.  Gant's book will help you use amino acids (the building blocks of all neurotransmitters) to treat the deficiencies that make you feel like you need a pill to feel happy.  This stuff REALLY works.  Gant is a consultant at the rehab where I spent 4 months and his system changed my life.

Good luck

How many pill were you taking a day?  If you were taking a lot, say 5-10 pills a day for an extended period of time, you can expect the depression to last about a month...but it does go away.  I know this time really sucks but if you want it bad enough you can make it.

I was on a 75 mic Fentanyl patch every 48 hours and sometimes I would put on two patches and I felt GREAT!  When I decided to quit I was terrified but struggled through it.  My advice would be to keep your family and friends close to you as they will be a great support.  These pills are lifeless and you have to look at them and say "you no longer have control over me."

This can be done.  I never tried Suboxone but others on this board have and said it really helped with the cravings and other detox issues..maybe some of them will chime in with some advice.  Drink lots of water and take a good multi vitimin.  Right now your body is wondering what the hell is going on and you need to make sure nutrition is a big part of your detox.

STAY TUFF!
