Hi and welcome to the forum, We have members here who have successfully come off tramadol. The nights are quiet here so check back in the morning as i am sure they will see this. I dont have alot of experience with tramadol so just wanted to welcome you. sara
Hi Nikki, I have just joined this morning and wanted to offer my support. I am on day 2 of tramadol withdrawal although my story is slightly different. I was prescribed tramadol 50mg 5 years ago for severe back pain. I took it as prescribed for a few years then found myself upping the dose just to get the effect I had originally. Up until sunday I have been taking up to 14 tablets a day. I honestly feel so stupid! Although I realised that I was addicted, I chose not to do anything about it. Within a few hours of missing a dose on Monday I began to feel flu like symptoms with severe pain in my stomach. My symptoms today are much the same although I know this wont last forever. The severity should lessen daily. I know that it is no consolation but you should be proud of yourself for getting yourself off of them before you begin to take more. I honestly have no excuse, I am married to an amazing man, have four gorgeous children and have recently acheived a diploma in education and social services. I should be happy with what I have got but I have let tramadol take over my life. After suffering for two days I will never take another tramadol pill again! If you do experience any of these symptoms all I can suggest is to ride them out. Don't try to subsitute the tramadol with anything else before speaking to your doctor. The last thing you want is to replace one addiction with another. I wish you the best and hope to hear how you get on!

Thank you this is my 2 day also it was ok had the chills a lot do u know have long the withdraws can last? And I am doing most of the Thomas recipe it is helping so far the vitamins and the hot baths help a lot Maybe google ;) let me know how was ur day
Hey honey! It's hard to get off of, but you were only on 2 per day, so you shouldn't have it too bad! It'll last about a week, maybe a little less for the worst part. You'll get a lot of help here. There are some great folks who will help you like they did and do for me!
Oh........keep up the hot baths. They will save your sanity!
Thank you everyone is so sweet i been sick with a cold 4 days before I decide to quit so I think the cold medicine helps the withdraws since I took off from my classes I thought it would be a good time to quit :)
Stay strong you guys, I'm on day 5 of Oxycodone withdrawals, I'll never take another one. Hot baths and drink Gatorade for the electrolytes. YOU CAN DO THIS!.Don't give in just put your foot down and say this is it, a new year and a new me!
Yes, absolutely she's right about the gatorade. I found out that apple juice helps leg problems too. It's also full of good stuff. Drinking fluids is the MOST important followed by eating something even if it's forced. You'll get through it. And.......any time is a good time to quit! : )
I tappered off oxy's and I to have back pain and fibro, I got all my info for getting off here and other forums. One thing I can suggest is do some kind of excercise or just move each day. that helped so much!! I am on day 16 and still have weakness but getting up and moving makes me feel better. I drank gator aid too. Helps!!! The people here are amazing!! I read this every chance I get for the encouragement. GL :)

Good for you! I'm tapering and preparing to quit and I have read lots about how hard it can be so I have all kinds of respect for what you're going through. Hang in there and congratulations!
