Tramadol/Ultram is a very nasty drug, even if you feel nothing or it feels safe the unfortunate truth is your baby (so much smaller than you) is getting that dose. And this drug ABSOLUTELY comes with ugly withdrawel symptoms. It would be a painful way for anyone to come into, and, excruciating I think for you to have to see your baby go through it.
Good luck.
sure I had a child addicted to meth when I was 19, he's completely healthy now too but I just dont think taking tramadol is safe-pregnant or not.
i had to take tramadol 50mg 4 times a day when i was pregnant with my last 2 children. they are completely healthy and suffered no withdrawal at birth at all. just take it as prescribed and as long as your ob is the one prescribing them i think that you will be ok.
come to think of it after i had my daughter i turned down a script of 50 vicodins cuz we didnt have the money to pay for it. that makes me laugh now cuz nothing wouldve kept me from taking that script a few months later when i became addicted again.
p.s i didnt even take any painkillers when i was pg with my daughter after I had a tooth pulled. and THAT was painful.
i flushed all mine downthe sink and turned on the disposal when i got out of detox. thankfully i never got addicted to that along with the other C R A P but i wouldnt take them if youre pregnant. id say tylenol or excedrin would be a lot safer....
yes worry,
only take them when your in pain, no pain means no drugs,
and consider carefuly the idea that your baby may have to begin withdrawls immediately after they cut the umbilical chord?
not a good way to begin life.
dont 'play' with tramadol, its a nasty nasty drug that robs many people of many years of their life.
Hey there! I now exactly what you are talking about with the headaches! Pregnancy and headaches really suck! I have been given tramadol (ultram) by my dentist a couple of times because of my history with substance abuse. One time I had to take them for a month or longer. WHen I stopped them I went into withdrawal symptoms, it only lasted about 2 days, but it was still very scary, considering I had been told they were safe and non addictive! When I was pregnant my Dr. gave me butabital for my headaches, and it really helped. You could take up to six a day if you had a headache and you weren't getting any relief. You wouldn't take 6 at one time, but like after an hour after taking the 1st one your headache was still there, then you could take another, and so on! I will never take ultram again, I hate it, it makes me feel weird! Talf to your Dr about the butabital! Best of luck to you!
