Twitching arms, legs and body, How do I stop them or ease them please?

Ok I am on day 2 of withdrawls my body is doing the twitch thing.  I can sit or lie still without my arms or legs twitching.  Its almost 12:30am and I can't sleep.  I had a sauna for about an hour to try to rid some toxins but I am thinking this is what brought on the twitches am I right or wrong? Please tell me. Rocking back and forth doesn't help either.  I have also developed a cough.  That I can't seem to get rid of either. Even with cough syrup (Benedryl).  Any suggestions?  Or just one of a few sleepless nights?  Any advise would be very grateful please.  Thank you
Awakened

I, too, am suffering from the leg and arm twitching at night - since the first of June, I have only been sleeping 2-3 hours per night with the exception of one night I slept like a baby.  I think that was sheer exhaustion.  I found the hot baths to be very helpful but it seems the relief is short lived.  If you can go to sleep quickly after a hot bath, great!  One night I got up and took 4 hot baths so most of that night was spent in the tub.  I have found that IcyHot rubbed on my calves and forearms helped some also.  All of my other withdrawal symptoms are gone but this no-sleep **** *****.  Hope you are doing better, Awakened - this, too, shall pass (I hope).

LOL. I remember when I first heard about the soap trick. I thought people were nuts but what the heck, I was willing to try anything. So I bought two bars of Ivory, placed them under the sheets right at my calves. Laidon back and slept like a baby.

Good luck!!!!

REALLY !!!!  I love it. I am going to place a bar of soap under my sheets tonight.
I am willing to try anything at this pint. It feels like everything wants to climb out of me all at once. It just came on. Holy S*^t.  My legs ache so much too. Heading for a hot bath.

Thanks for the information on the Hylands product I will be picking that up for sure today and I'll let ya know how it worked for me.  Yeppers day 3 feeling pretty yucky but its almost over.  I can see the light faintly at the end.
And awsome that Sophie wouldn't mind me looking at her pictures.
How are you doing within yourself? Was your journey long and hard as many others?  I would like to hear it if you are willing to tell me how you over come it or are continuing to work on it.  Thanks and chat son.

Hello.. I think sophie would enjoy you looking at her Beautiful Pictures :) Some do get rls in their arms as well as their legs.. I used a knock off of a product called Hylands restful leg.. It was surprisingly helpful :) Some friends that came off Heroin used Tonic water as it has Quinine in it and it was also very helpful.. the Hylands can be found in a drug store.. In my honest opinion.. this is the worst part of wd.. Happy for you that you are claiming your life back.. Congratulations on Day 3 :) I wish you the best.. lesa

Just don't forget to replentish from the sweat of strenuous exercise as well as long saunas and hot baths during detox. You need that good stuff back. Hope the shakes went away and you had some success with sleep.

Hi Awakened!!!
Great idea the Y!!! I ride on my bicycle, well I live in Amsterdam, Holland, it helps!!! and I go to the gym 3 times a week. It really does wonders for me. I used to sport a lot in my younger days(!!!) and I had forgotten the good feeling it gives you, the natural high, nothing like it! Not to mention the help it is for the sleep...
I wish you the best at getting your life and freedom back!!!
All my support. xoxoxo. sophie.

Yes, Corey good idea, I did pick up V8 fruit juice as well as gator aid, also blueberries and bananas.  As well as a big no,no, to some people, I bought chocolate covered raisins
Oh and Sophie thank you for the luck.  As for exercise If its okay I'd like to do laps (slowly at first, then faster & faster) at our YMCA. Work my way up to a lil run.
Thank you Corey and Sophie

Hey there!
Welcome to the forum!!!
Corey is completely right, I'd just add that you can do some exercise too, it helps a lot for your detox. I know it probably sounds crazy right now, but even a lil run will help.
Best of luck to you and congrats on day 2!!!
xoxoxo. sophie.

Going in a sauna is great for getting rid of toxins...but you need to replace the good things that your body needs. Sports drinks put back your much needed electrolytes. Hope they help. Corey

Thank you.  IGA is open 24 hrs,  I am heading there for some bananas and gatore aid.  I wonder if pedialite for children would work the same? Hmmm I will check out both and get back to you.
Thanks again Corey.  I appreciate any help to ease these nasty things.

If you sat in a sauna for that long you may have depleted your body of Potassium. Low potassium will cause this twitching. You need to get some bannannas or sport drinks high in potassium and get them into you. If it was just your legs I would say it's rls but if it's happening in your arms it is probably potassium.
