When this desire hits..it can be tough..specially when u r alone. I live alone and quit alone..but aftercare and meetings as well as posting here...it let me know I was not alone. Sometimes we gotta admit we can not do everything alone and seek the support we need.
I used to say the 3 Ms..I remember...MEDHELP (posting) MOVING (exercise increases endorphins/cleaning out a drawer gets ur mind off those evil lil puppies)
I just now remembered the third M....MEETINGS/support we need to be successful
Read thru the health pages..the thomas recipe is great..exercise..a walk around the block even can make u feel normal for a bit
also an article on craving is in the health pages..it recommends reciting or writing down the reasons u quit doing drugs
what were the reasons u stopped, Blondie?
Clean house. Vacuum. Go to an NA meeting. Call a non-using friend. Take a hot bath. Eat chocolate. Take a vitamin B12......
Anything is better than using. SO...just do ANYTHING!
The first thing is to realize that what you are feeling is 100% NORMAL. Lonliness is hard to deal with in and of itself without throwing addiction on top of it. They say to find hobbies and interests, but I know how hard that can be. Reaching out on a forum like here is a great start. It takes time, so keep being nice to yourself, do what you need to do, and don't forget to have hope.
Go for a walk, take the dogs out go clean something!!! Pick up the phone and call someone!!! Get your mind off it. I know it's hard but when u get the craving get up and go do something . Even if it's walking out to the front yard and back in. Also try a hot shower
