What to do now?

I've painted myself into a corner with this heroin addiction. I snort and have been doing it on and off for 4 years. The longest I've stayed clean is 8 mos and then 6 mos. Now I've been using for the past 8 mos. and cannot seem to stop for more than 2 days! It gets harder and harder. This disease is progressive for sure. What can I do? I really feel like it will NEVER end. Help!

Jack, how long were you on the Oxycontin?  Typically, the worst of the physical withdrawal occurs between 48-72 hours after the last dose.  After that there is a more extended period in which you might suffer depression and a very washed out, unmotivated feeling, but generally after 3 or 4 days you realize that you will live.  Be sure to have some Imodium on hand for the runs.

Good luck.

Hello evryone,This is my first post ever but ive been following for awhile. All I ask is that you be kind to me as I will to you.(I see alot of bitterness in here)i am very emotional and think Im going through standard depression from wds. All of your words have helped and a response would be great as I am feeling very alone.Ill try to keep my story short. Started on tabs lorcets, vics then oxys. I have no injuries or pain(except wds)purely by choice. I have found an unlimited supply of methadone(yes I know it's very dangerous)We have a very bad detox center where I live. Every local Ive known that came out of it is still an addict. ive heard some opinions on tapering and some on CT. I think its an individual choice. I am very dedicated to my personal program and feel very determined and stronger every day that I will succeed. I started on 80mg and dropped to 40mgs without much pain. Then to 20mgs. I got stuck there. Finally decided I had to wether the pain and dropped to 15mgs. The first week was very painful but I never took an extra dose. Im on my 2nd week on 15mgs and feel good thinking I should drop again but dont want to dicourage myself by being in pain canstantly. I plan to drop 2.5 every 2 weeks until Im off. Im very dedicated to this idea and feel strongly about it and do not have access to meds to help wds. I am looking for some encouraging advice. I know that this method is not recommended but I feel its working for me and we all know every individual is different. I would appreciate no dicouraging remarks but just some company.
Thank You for your time.

I will post more when I have time, but your method will work as long as you stick to the plan.  DO NOT stay on the methadone!  In your case, you should use it to get off the opioids and get away.
