I was on percocet, apparently not too high a dose, but I did abuse them. I took them for almost 6 years and by the end was using about 100mg a day. I detoxed HARD, the first week, then got better and better as I made it through the first month. I am 38 days clean now and feel a whole lot better. I want to use, because I live without pain and have energy and all that but I can't use because I'm an addict. It's not an easy battle and some days are better than others. Take vitamins, try to exercise if you can, sweat really helps. Drink LOTS of water and gatorade and keep your chin up! There's a light at the end of this tunnel and it's a life without pills. Good Luck! Keep posting, it really helps to talk to people who understand what you're going through.

I was on those for about a year. I just cold turkey-ed them. I didn't have too much trouble at all, the yawning, watery eyes, RLS,  bit of the craps, but it wasn't too bad like oxy wd's.
I then went on fentynol for a few years, and just ct'd them as well. I didn't really have much withdrawal symptoms from those either, but I slept for three days, so I probably slept through them, LoL!.  That's what i really hated about fenynol in the first place, they made me drowsy all the time. I could be sitting and talking to someone one minute, then fall dead asleep the next. It was unpredictable.
I never abused any of those drugs, so that's probably why The wds weren't so bad.
Now I've been on oxy for the last ten years, 480mg/day for the last three years. I've hit the withdrawals a couple times and I can tell you they are much worse than anything else I've experienced from morphine and fentynol. I don't abuse my pills in anyway at all, I don't even get a "buzz" from them like other people do, which is the reason I went on the stuff in the first place. Pain control without being zonked gave me my life back.

Now I'm just sick of taking them, and am considering quitting them. I just don't know what I can do for my chronic pain though, which is unbearable without them. I guess I'll just have to wait until the next miracle drug comes along first.

Depends on what is being  taken and how much as well. If someone is taking say 4 percs a day for a year or so, it shouldn't be much of a problem at all. It's more psychological than physical of an addiction. But if the person was taking way more than the recommended daily max, like 20 or so, then there would be a stronger physical addiction due to the amount of the addictive ingredient (oxycodone) being taken.

im coming off 5 years of morphine use. all perscribed by dr. I did not abuse. I'm still an addict. I'm so glad to hear you took the first step! I am on day 8 and i'm not going to lie it *****!!!  sneezing, yawns, leg aches, brain flashes, tears, craps. etc. I was on a lot of morphine for a long time. I hope it is easier for you. I take 3-5 hot epson salt baths a day it only helps for a short time but i keep getting in. I also heard spinach helps, I like it so i tried it a couple days. Didn't really notice anything, but then again us addicts want a miracle drug now. Hang in there, I've been praying to god a lot. let me feel better or take me home. my options are pretty open right now. I keep witing for a break through but these realy screw up your central nervous system. Take it one day, hour, min. at a time. wish I was more helpful. sorry for the negative comments but i hurt. good luck!! god bless.

Quite a few factors, Length of time a person was taking, dosage, Age,Weight but the average is anywhere from 3-7 days. I looked at it as having a cold or the flu which makes it easier on the mind cause you know each day will be better then the one before
