clonidine n gabapentin for oxycodone withdrawal

Take around 240 mg of roxycodone per day,is it ok to use gabapentin n clonidine while tapering to help with withdrawal

I tried the gabapentin and it spiked my blood pressure.

Looks like you have tried these 2 w/d meds before and in some of your posts, you said they helped....others you said they didn't.  

They absolutely WILL help but not if you don't have a well thought out taper plan and reduce the roxys as you are taking them.  If you still believe you can taper, having another person dole them out is one of the best ways to stick to a taper.  I could never do it, but some people can.  I was on both of the meds you are asking about and truly believe they helped me.

The biggest challenge will be cutting off your sources and getting some support.  You asked some really good questions in one of your 2013 threads, and you got some excellent replies.  IBK was one of our veteran members on this forum and she gave you some fantastic advice in this thread.  Hope you'll read it:

Have n addiction doctor who gave me withdraw meds,but on such a high dose of oxy.tried cold turkey with thse n can't do it.thought it woul . B easier if tapered while taking detox meds

Do you have a doctor who's advising you on this detox? I have to ask. It also would help if you feel comfortable enough to let us know about dose amounts. I do have experience with Gabapentin.
