Hey I just thought I would jump in and add my 2 cents. I am 6 weeks off the pills and had a really tough time between weeks 2 and 4. I still have depression and anxiety but I have greatly benefited from both exercise (nothing crazy, just making sure I am out and about moving around) and from the 5 HTP pills from GNC. They take a little while to work but that along with the aminos has been helpful. The forum has helped me with my depression alot as well. I thought that I would go crazy for a while, especially since I did not sleep for weeks. But it does truly get better but you have to drag yourself out of bed and do things on auto-pilot for a while. They have a really strong Amino blend for athletes at GNC that I take now instead of taking each amino differently. Not sure if that's what I should do but it was 20 bucks for a big jar and 15 bucks for the jar of 5HTP's. I hope this helps. Keep posting.

Do you have much support? Like through N/A or anything like that? I found that if I secluded myself and was alone a lot after getting clean I would feel worse, but if I surrounded myself with people who were also going through the same thing I felt so much better. It's almost impossible to go through this completely alone. You have to express your emotions and feelings about all this some how or else it will just build and build up inside you and cause more depression.

depression i thought for the most part was the hardest to overcome .. it took me almost a month i was so bad i got on lexapro and it worked almost within the 1st week of taking it but i was so bad i didnt know what to do ..i stopped taking it and my depression is still gone .. isee youre on a few different stabilizers or anti-depressents...do you see a psychiatrist? what do they say .. i personally think youre on too much of the other drugs youre mind prolly is confused so ide think about a switch or an increase or a decrease youre dr would know better...but just know that it could possibly last 2 months ok take it easy and try to just force yourself to smile even when you dont feel like it and force youreself to get outside see some sunlight ok i'm here

It can last a while. Months even, dependin on how long you were addcited and how many you were taking. Aminos are the best in restoring the receptors that were damanged when you were addicted. Purchase the book, "End Your Addiction Now". It has alot of info on what it is that we do to ourselved and what happens after we actually end our addicitons. It also has alot of info on the Amino's that you can take that will start to rebuild what was destroyed. ANd hopefully, speed up the process of returning to normal. It should take some time though, sorry to say. Have you researched PAWS? Try that.....

Good Luck....Lisa

How many days did you use and how long did you use the pills? I am unable to find any research as to how this depression thing works. I've heard months or years to fully get back to normal.  There has to be a ball-park figure for most normal people. If someone could just tell me it will take another 13 days, then I could relax and watch movies till then.

I'm not much help, but would also like the questioned answered.  I'm sure it takes different amounts of time for different people.  I just want the depression and fatigue lifted NOW!!

Oh well, I will try to be more patient.

I used for a lot longer then I have been clean.
