Today orientation for program, tomorrow first NA meeting

Well today is the orientation for the out-patient program I am going to go through.  I will find out when the program actually starts - I know that sometimes there is a wait, but my counselor said it is usually pretty quick.  I am anxious to get started.  I really want this.

Tomorrow I have nothing planned, first time in awhile.  So I thought.... there is NO excuse not to go to an NA meeting.  I found one that starts at noon.  Will give AA a shot after that.

The more support I have the more I will succeed.  I can't put the bottle of pills/booze down and walk away thinking it's done.  I made that mistake once.  I worked hard at being an addict, now I'm willing to work even harder for recovery.

I have been clean for over three years now. It is not easy but well worth it. I AM ME AGAIN!!!!

Calijen..we are all alike. Same boat--one oar! LOL Only joking.

I got clean 18 years ago. I stayed clean for a little over five years through the fellowships of NA and AA. I relapsed, and I will let you figure out how that happened.

As soon as I think I've "got this"??? I am dead.

Embrace it lady. You ARE worth it!

Thank you so much!  That is exactly what I told my psychiatrist.  He asked if I would be okay until I started the program or if I thought I needed Sub, etc.  I told him I have no problem getting clean.  I just need to learn how to STAY that way.  So that is where the program and aftercare come in.

Glad to know I'm not alone, sounds like we are alike.

Morning!

Way to go! Good plan.

I found the same to be true for me. I know how to get clean clean, I just don't know how to stay clean. I can't do it alone...MY way does not work.

I am so glad you are getting treatment and support. Good luck and stick with it.

You are in my thoughts and my prayers.
