Persnick38, nailed it on the head. You are going to feel depression going from that great amount of vics. You will have some deprssion for a while because of the brain recepotors being use to the vicodine. You may even have times you feel like crying and just sad for no reason. It takes time for our brains and body to heal. Please read information about PAWS-post accute withdrawal syndrom. It will help you to understand what we have done to our brains and what it takes to heal.

Glad to hear I am not the only one eating chocolate like it is going out of style. What Chocolate better than sex? I wonder if I'll get an overdose of euphoria if I have sex tonight while eating chocolate. Hey that'd be a hard one to explain. Wait just hold on one second while I open this three muskateers honey. Wanna bite?? LOL

I am on Cymbalta and have found that my depression has worsened some since I went CT 11 days ago. Not entirely sure it's a true exacerbation of clinical depression but I have certainly felt more sad and moods all over the place over the past week. I think what is happening to us is that the pills messed with our pain receptors and the chemicals in our brains so much that not having them makes us feel more emotions more intensely. Did that make any sense?  Basically, I think everything it is going to take awhile for all of the chemicals and hormones to settle down and get back to "normal" - whatever that is.
Way to go on 8 days!

congrats on day 8, way to go, keep up the good work. just wanted to comment on the depression. I take cymbalta for depression and i have discovered something that really helps. GROUND FLAXSEED. you have to grind it. i grind mine in a coffee grinder, cheap one i got at walmart. i get the flaxseed at any health food store. i put it in my hot cereal in the morning. you can put it in any food. the essential fatty acids are so helpful for depression. anyway, so proud of you, keep posting. cr_st_na

Congrats on day 8! What dose of sub are you on? If the Vics took away your depression when you were using the sub should do the same, but then again everyones different. Are you going for a short term detox or maintinance?

Yes it's still possible and even likely to get depressed while on the antidep. because of the w/d.  You're gonna have less Serotonin available right now, and it might be good to have the dose bumped up, but not necessarily....it may be o.k. to wait it out.  I'd talk to the doc. about this for sure.  Chocolate, it's been found, gives your brain more pleasure than even sex, so it's no wonder...and so far, everyone I've talked to has consumed much of it during this time!  I don't know about MedHelp and the posts, sorry.
