Please keep your taper going. Take it one day at a time (or one hour at a time if need be). I did a taper off of Norco and I had been taking them for 4 years. I have not had any for 54 days. You have to put those pills out of reach (maybe on a high shelf in the garage or somewhere so you won't take a pill on auto pilot or have some one dole them out). Only take out the daily taper meds. Have a plan, that helps you stick to it. Withdrawal wasn't a piece of cake, but it was do-able. You will have symptoms like any withdrawal (diarrhea, anxiety, irritablity, sneezing, sleeplessness,chills-just pretend its the flu). There will be some craving of pills, but I think less than cold turkey (maybe??). I've never done c/t so don't know for sure. Keep busy.
You can do this. Good luck
IF IT IS IMPOSIBLE, to taper you are probably going to have to consider buprenorphine, (suboxon/ subutex). It was the only way for me when I was in your spot.
like lurker said with someone holding your pills tapering is possible. there is an article in my profile about tapering that has a schedule in it. Click on my screen name and it will take you there, the article is in my journal.
You mentioned youre sick of this ruining your life, And that is one of the most important, if not The most important aspects of youre recovery, You are doing Great on your taper, and know that all of us have gone through what youre going through so we can understand,, You said the last week you have only taken 5 a day, IT is the Toughest battle you will have, but it is the War you want to win. You are so close, DO NOT GIVE UP. KEEP the taper going or if you can, just Stop. And then you will be saying a week from now, Last week I took nothing and am feeling better, even though IT will not be easy. Either way Keep the taper going or stop, You will Prevail. JayDean
Welcome - if you have someone holding your meds for you, tapering can work. I couldn't get below 10 per day and finally chose Suboxone. Many people here have tapered and done well. Hang in there = search the Thomas Recipe here for some things that might help you with the withdrawal symptoms. They really are awful.
Keep on posting - you'll make it!
