I havn't used heroin for 5 days.....If I shoot once will I be dope sick?

great advice ! the only thing I would add is....THIS is the time you are most likely to overdose and die.  Your tolerance is way down due to being five days clean.Don't do it.great job on the five days I know it's hard.I did the EXACT same thing you were doing.you can do it and it will get better the longer you stay clean

Ya...its possible...but moreso you will feel guilty for blowing the 5 days and go on a run...then be back here a year from now asking the same question. Why dont you just turn 5 days into 6 and run with that? Im an ex heroin addict...IV use since I was a teen. I dont know much about you other than your 39 but I know whats going on in your mind right now and I can tell you that since you posted this thread...I know you are genuinely tired and ready to stop.

You won't shoot once. Once is too many, 1000 is not enough. Don't try to find out if you'll be dope sick or not. You got + 5 days on your life. 5 days is HUGE. That means you're IN recovery right now. Keep that ball rolling. Get with other people in recovery any way you can. Being on here is great. Being with another recovering addict is active addiction's worst enemy. Good that you posted. You stopped it in it's tracks.

Don't do it!!  That's your addict talking to you.  You know the drill.  Use once and when it wears off, then what?  Then you have to make this decision again.  Don't throw away 5 days for one high!

HI tt, You probably are still dope sick from stopping and you are craving and want to feel better and get high but if you do that in a few hours you are going to have to make this decision again. It is not worth it. You have come this far and that is Great Congrats !! Get rid of the rig take a hot shower go for a walk Distract yourself from the craving.. Get rid of your contacts... Maybe even hit up a NA meeting our a AA meeting. Do what it takes not to Not use ok You have made it 5 days !! I know how hard that was it gets better.... lesa
