looking to help my brother

Hi, I am trying to find out for my 54yr. old brother how long does meth withdrawls last. He last took meth and codone 4 months ago. He stopped  on his own.  He is very paranoid feels like he is crawling out of his skin depressed can't sleep ect. He says his mind is a little more clear but he is going crazy with a ringing in his ears, and  crawling out of his skin.  Is this normal for withdrawls four months into it? I am in Ca. he is in Utah he call me all the time driving me nuts I want to be suportive but he is wearing me down has no money or insur.to get professonal help. Any hot line numbers any one can share. he needs to talk to someone who has gone thru this. he has abused drugs for many year.  Has lost his job and is losing his 7yr old daugther. I could go on and on. Please someone Help..

Also, the symptoms she is describing are not "classic" of someone who is using, but rather of someone who is still going through WDs.  skin crawling, depression, paranoia...all pretty typical WD symptoms.  and how is it possible to "fry" your mind, and how would antidepressants help with that?  please think things through before you give advice.

Hi.  that is not a very accurate or positive response.  have you gone through methadone detox or are you just assuming that what you are saying is true?  i've been 2 months clean from it and still struggling and that was only after 1 year use.  her brother is coming off of 20 years of using!  my husband kicked a 6 year heroin habit and said he did not feel well for about 6 months.

NO way should he be acting like that 4 months later unless he fried his mind which is possible, if that is the case he needs a shrink to give hime the right anti deprresant meds, that will get him balanced again, or he is still using, those are the classic syptoms,,ask him to be strait up with you,The best thing he can do is get a full physical and talk to a Dr. to get that crazy thinking under control so he can concentrate and relax and participate in his recovery..Could you imagine trying to get thuru a day at work feeling like that?
