could it be lockjaw?

I got really drunk a couple nights ago while i still had a cold and supposedly i did some cocaine through my nose. well now my left side of my face is in pain especially my jaw and can barely open my mouth to eat. whenever i do try to open my mouth it hurts. does anyone know what this could be? is it something serious?

certain cold meds like robitussin can also cause this type of thing. were you taking anything like that?

yes david is right , true lock jaw is caused by tetanus and is a very serious and often fatal disease which thankfully isnt common anymore thanks to tetanus shots. The others are right, it sounds like TMJ (i have that bad too- my right side locks up on me every single night when i sleep and i have to work it loose for quite a long time before it POPs and CRACKS back open and then will do that horrid sound for hours after its "loose") Go see a dr if you dont get it to open- also try Heating pad or a super hot wet wash cloth, Motrin and trying different positisons laying down with your head to see if you can get it to pop back into position.

lockjaw is caused by tentious you know by cuting you self on something rusty i dont know how this pertianes to it.

yeah it sounds like you were maybe grinding your teeth from doing the coke...i used to grind mine so bad whene i did coke...i have tmj soo bad now...have had both disc relaced...she a tmj specialists...and soon.

It sounds like tmj and your jaw has locked on one side GO TO THE DOCTOR dont play around .
