need help with sleep

I'm on day 4 of a Roxicet taper and having a terrible time sleeping.  I just can't lie still in the bed.  My doctor had prescribed me Soma for muscle spasm which I had been taking 1 each night before bedtime.  Its a great relaxant but I cut them out too (completely) when I started tapering off the Roxicet.  Would it be ok to take one at bedtime to help with the sleeplessness or am I backsliding?  Is a muscle relaxer considered as bad as a narcodic?

Finally got some sleep and resisted taking the Soma, yes!  Legs are still very twitchie tho.  I found it helps to walk but don't have much energy for that.  Got the electric blanket covered, thanks avisg for the help.  I live in Vermont so I have lots of those.

Yes, I tend to really like the Soma.  Thankfully my doctor only gives me enough for 1 each day so I've been able to make myself only take that one.  Since I wanted to get off Rox I thought it was best to give up the Soma too.  Maybe I'll just take half to see if it helps me sleep.  I am so deprived right now!

Thanks aisg!

As long as you don't abuse the Soma and use it for sleeplessness you should be fine. I take Flexeril for my muscles but it doesn't make me tired.

Read what on the link below. Has some tips on sleeping and using natural remedies. I hope it helps. : )
