pain & pills

i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure. Anyway i've been reducing my morphine by 10mg at a time & in the last 6 months i've dropped 30mg tablets a day meaning i still take 150mg in s/r tablets twice a day along with all the other meds. The past 5 days i've been in agony & it feels like i've  broken my vertebrae again. This has happened twice already with no trauma due to severe osteoporosis.i'm struggling not to increase my morphine to ease the pain as i know this will put me back but i hurt so much. I know even if i had it x-ray'd & it is broken, then nothing would be done so not sure what to do for the best. Any advice would be good.

My only advice i can give is to discuss this with your doctor.  You are on a lot of meds.  Have you consulted with another doctor?  I am sorry you are living with so much pain.     sara

Hi, you should probably talk with your doctor. This reads like you are seriously thinking about getting off the meds and you might have to go for a very very slow taper.
