they can.. especially if you are thinking of quitting. you are in the right place. Have you tried to stop before?? How many do you take per day?? What did you start taking them for??
Do you wanna stop cold turkey?? Or try to taper off?? Do you have a doc that could help???
Welcome!!!!
Long term tylenol ( an ingrediant in most pain meds ) is not ideal! It isn't good for you kidney's or liver. Plus, the longer you take them, the harder it will be for you to get off of them. At this point, you have great shot at getting off of them now, whichever way you choose ( meaning taper or cold turkey). Withdrawals aren't fun, but don't last forever...it is soooooo worth it! I'm so glad you joined the forum...I'll help any way that I can.
I think I want to taper off. I need the energy though.
I have been tapering.. it takes a certain mindset it also helps if you have someone in your life to confide in that can hold you accountable. As far as tapering goes.. slow and steady wins the race.. tapering too fast you may as well just stop taking them. Generally cutting out a half a pill a week is good.. it takes your body a few days to adjust to the new dose.. you will have some mild discomfort when you cut out some.. be prepared with the Immodium.. some people are able to go faster than that and they start spreading their doses farther apart every day.. decide what is best for you and if one way isn't working try a different way..
