roxicet addiction... *****

me and my boyfriend of 6 years are both addicted to roxicets and are looking for a way out. its ridiculous and embarassing for us to be at this point, because we have been recreational drug users for years and have never dealt with a personal addiction of any kind, nonetheless one of this magnitude. we have never been prescribed them, we just started taking them for fun, but i assure you the fun is gone. we are in our early 20's, smart, and trying to move forward in our lives, but due to our addiction, are broke, and constantly spending the last money we have on damned roxicets. he is a little worse off than me, and had been doing them for a year and a half now, whereas i have now been addicted to them for 7 months. i do anywhere from 1 to 3 pills in a day, and he does anywhere from 3 to 6 a day. i guess i should mention that we snort, not swallow them. i cant remember the mg of them, but he says 1 roxi is equivalent to around 6 percocets, soo.. what the hell am i supposed to do? i panic when i realize we dont have any, and ive been known to freak and start swinging on my bf until he finds me some. i am not proud of these moments. when i try and sleep without any, i get an intense case of restless leg syndrome and find myself doing the funky chicken at 5 am, thrashing about in bed, writhing in discomfort, and tears. if i have to go to work woithout any, i start having a nervous breakdown. my sister thinks im a junkie, and others probably starting to think im one too. how the hell am i supposed to cut these blasted little blue pills out of my/our life??? anyone, anyone? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got out of rehab due to the same problem... its hard to kick and it ***** you get the same withdrawls as u would with heroin all opiates give the same effect i wouldnt suggest using methadone or any other drug to ween off or substitute any other drug for it.. if you cant go to a detox or a rehab then id suggest going to NA meetings or getting away for a while cause when you cant handle going through the withdrawls any more your more likely to give up and start all over again i highly suggest going into detox and then some kind of treatment center where u can learn the tools you need to cope with the addiction and all that comes along with it plus relapse prevention changing old people places and things and changing your old behaviors.. get a sponsor and work the twelve steps i promise you'll be happy with the outcome best of luck to u

This is an old post but it needs to be put into the new posts that are running in the drug addiction forum. Please copy and paste your post above and then hit"post a question" at the top of the page and that way it will show up as new and you will get a TON of answers. There are so many people that are addicted to all kinds of different things but I want you to know that I'm clean because of this forum and from something much stronger than the little blue pills. It sounds like you're ready to get your life back and believe me when I say it can be done without any insurance or a detox center. Hope to see you out on the forum with this same question posted!!

I have heard of people smoking roxi's but I personally have not gone to that method myself.   I have had many people tell me not to ever smoke them, but they never specified as to why.  I couldn't imagine anything being worse than the hell I'm enduring snorting them.  I can identify with something in just about every post I've read.   My doctor recently prescribed percocet but there is no comparison to the feeling the "blues" give me.  My supplier of roxi's said it's because it does in fact take 6 perc's to equal one roxi.  The perc's contain so much acetomininine (tylenol) that 6 would probably eventually cause some liver damage I'm sure, especially because I drink alcohol sometimes with the pills.   I have also found that when withdrawals start and no "blues" are available, heavier drugs are a common substitute, for example "boy" (heroin).  I'm so ashamed of myself, I was 4+ yrs clean from coke and look at me now.  I've even stooped to using my former drug of choice, aforementioned, when I could not find any "blues".  I have been to detox a few times, but I seem to return to the roxi's as soon as they become available again.  I've tried returning to 12 step programs, only to end up using and/or exchanging phone number with other users or roxi's.   One of the problems I encounter is that being uninsured, detox centers will only keep me a couple of days, then release me and I'm like a dog returning to it's vomit.  I'm scared of methadone too, as those clinics like to get you addicted to methadone so they may get your money every day also.  I really feel helpless in my situation, I can't stop and it's going to wreck my life, I feel there are no resources to really help me kick this w/o having any insurance.

Our son, 24, is addicted to the little blues.   Only, I know that he says he smokes them.  He's in a detox center now, on his own volition.  Nothing I've read so far has said anything about someone who smokes roxicet.  Help.
