Thx, very helpful! Victoria
suboxone has naloxone in it, subutex does not...naloxone is put in suboxone as an alternative for IV drug users, suboxone CANNOT be used by needle...the naloxone somehow is activated when cooked (i think) so it will cause sever precipitated withdrawals, it cannot be used intraveinously (sp?) both have the same maximum dose which is 32 mgs...and i think they both have "the ceiling effect" also, which means it will only do so much for you...taking more of the drug does nothing for you. the minimum dose can be as low as you want it to be, .5 mgs if that is what will work for you...hope this was helpful...
What is the difference in suboxone and subutex? What is the minimum and max dose for both?
It is a very real possiblity and when "A patient is treating a patient" failures are around every corner.......
you take an addict who already has a problem with pills and now expect them to be responsible and
disciplined to take Suboxone exactly like your suppose to for maxium results.......
It is very simular to "tapering" people become addicted and develope a physcial dependency with drugs and totally loose control taking narcotic pain pills.........
They decide to taper down and quit.....my question is how is it that all of a sudden they can become so disciplined and responsible when only minutes before they had lost all control........
I was talking to a addict recently who was sharing at a table and he was so proud.......he stated that only weeks ago he was taking 50 percs a day everyday but that he had cut it down to 30 and he was beeming with accomplishment......I just sat and listened thinking I know taking 50 percs a day is nuts but how is taking 30 a day really any better.........
mom2all Suboxone is a medication that helps an opiate addict gets through the W/Ds but most importantly it is a 7-14 day process max......you have to have a plan......and then support someone to help distribute them to the addict.............
Yes this med is mis used. there are people who use it to be "weekend warriors" they take Sub during the week at low doses and then get high on the weekends, then back to Sub. Its also being snorted, shot ect... Addicts find a way to abuse all drugs even if they don't get much of a high from it.
The only thing I got from it was dizzy as all get out. I was so nauseous from my head spinning. I hated the feeling. I can't imagine anyone wanting to try and get high from it. However, everybody is different. That was just how my body reacted.
i got a high in detox from my first 4mg dose. but that was a very minor high and it didnt happen again. Besides injecting it, no you dont really get high from it.
the only time i got any type of feeling from it is when i had to take my xanax near the time of my sub dose...other than that , no high would be involved...and i was taking the full 32mgs for 5 weeks...i'm glad there is no high involved...it would be kind of defeating the purpose wouldnt it
I've gotten a high off of suboxone, but only when I first started taking it or if I took to much...Subutex isn't only being injected, but snorted aswell...
Mom, there is no way a person can misuse this drug if they are taking suboxone/nx 8mg orange rectangle shape with the letters N-8 on one side. subutex 2mg white oval pill can be injected like heroin. As it has no naloxone in it which is an opiate receptor blocker in suboxone. Both these drugs after time about 36 hrs fill the opiate receptors thus blocking any pain medication from producing a euphoric effect. Why do you ask Mom problems at home? This is the place to talk about it free of charge or are you just curious?-----------------NOAH
