imovane/ zopilcone is used in canada as a sleep med...similar to a benzo..like ambien is similar to a benzo..but not supposedly as addictive...anything we use for sleep can become habit forming cos sleep is a precious commodity for many...safer herbs to sleep are out there..valerian root worked wel for me...an otc med called "relax and sleep" by futurebiotics is what i take now and has both melatonin and valerian in it..also calcium and magnesium...sleep is important during recovery..good luck

Does the UK not have Product Information Inserts such as we do in the US of A that are basically reprints of the information contained in the Physicians Desk Reference and that are placed with each prescription filled?  These tell you virtually everything concerning the medication prescribed.

thanks for all your help, i am not taking the sleeping tablet anymore, i spoke with my sis in law she is a doc, she told me that i had only been on them a short time so there would be no withdrawels, i slept pretty bad last night but not as bad as i thought i would, i am more angry with the doc for putting me in the situation, i am a nurse but we dont use these tablets where i work,so i had no prior knowledge to them i stupidly assumed because the doctor was giving them to me and he never mentioned any side affects that it was ok.  anyway i am going to the health shop today to get a natural remedy hopfully that will help with the sleep, thanks for all your input :-) xxx

Good info in previous post. When you go for your dr. appt. make sure you can quit the sleeping pills cold turkey or will you need to slowly drop them. All  day long we can tell dr. that we are recovering addicts but ultimately it is up to us to do the research. If you were looking to get high you would have dropped a couple during the day so I would not be too alarmed over this. I use melatoin ( gnc ) two sublingle under the tounge 20 mins b4 bedtime, they also have a 3mg that you sawallow( my husband takes )These you can take long term without having to raise the dosage. Good Luck

You could try 3-5mgs of melatonin, you can get it at any grocery store, it helps alot of people and its all natural. You gotta be careful with rx sleeping aids, really any sleeping aids because it easy to become dependent upon them for sleep, but your much better off going with something natural like melatonin or l-tryptophan. Theres a website called sleepingpillsreviewed.com that has their top ten all natural sleeping aids that you could check out.

I am not familiar with this drug. Have you googled it? Many sleeping pills are addictive in the respect that if you take them every night you will not be able to sleep again without them. Hopefully someone will come on who knows more. Weekends are slow here so bear with us. God bless. Corey
