Been on subutex for 5 days. the first 2 days were great...then on day 3 i got a migrane. went to doc and she gave me meds. still getting headaches. Also, why did I have tons of energy and felt fine the first 2 days and now I'm sick to my stomach, tired, and have head aches?

I started suboxone last week.  I have the worst headaches.  The one I got last night was so bad that I actually threw up.  I take a Goody powder (Stanback) as soon as I feel one coming on and it gets rid of it within 15 minutes.  It is the only thing that works for me.  I just called my doc and he said it was fine to take it.  Good luck to you!

I took Suboxone for nearly 4 years and don't ever recall getting headaches from it, but when I was on the higher dosage, I do recall not being able to sleep very well.  I found that taking the lowest dose that I could, 4 mg after tapering down, was very effective with minimal side effects.  I agree with bkwrm, check with your doctor about adjusting your dose.  I hope you feel better.

the naloxone in suboxone is what often causes the headaches....subutex does not have naloxone in it...be safe and talk to ur dr about this problem

In my experience they can also come back over time. I seemed to actually lose tolerance for suboxone so if I didn't go down (or got stupid and went back up) I would get headache and nausea. Maybe talk to your Dr. about lowering your dosage. We're not allowed to give dosing advice on here, but in general you want to be on the least effective dose of anything because that minimizes risk of side effects.

Hello.  Yes, suboxone can give major headaches.  I wouldn't call them technically 'migraines' but yeah - bupe headaches are the worst - very migraine like (nauseous, sensitivity to light etc).  I had major headaches at first, then very dull headaches after during my sub time.  In the beginning - the first 2 weeks - they were pretty severe.. but your body does adjust and they will lessen or go away all together.  Lots of times, if the headache is really bad, then your dose is too high.  When I started suboxone at 24mgs, I was way too high (imo) and I was pretty sick for those first few weeks.. You should talk to your doctor about it and see what he suggests.  Good luck.
