ulcers... anyone know?

i had emergency surgery about a week ago for a preforated ulcer. my question is this: can lorecet (sp?) cause ulcers? the doctor gave me this for pain, and i'm scared to take anything after the surgery. the doctors say the ulcer happened because of use of goody powders. i've been taking them since i was in my early 20's, i'm 36 now. it got to where i couldn't wake up without a goody and a coke "the fix". anyway, i slowed down considerably on them in the past years, but i guess the damage was already done. the funny thing is, i didn't have any symptoms of the ulcer. i'm just worried to take any meds now. the lorecet was my "DOC" and my wonderful husband is going to give them to me when i need them for pain.

Don't know exactly what is in Lorecet but when i had the beginings of an ulcer my doctor took me off of all anti-inflammatorys and said i could only take hydrocodone.

Hey, don't let that stuff get a hold on you eh?

I have read that just taking them when you have pain shouldn't cause you to be addicted but if you have a history with addiction you should take them only when the pain is so bad you can't take it. and get rid of them when the pain is gone. do you live here in AL?
