what are the hardest opiates to w/d from?

So I've heard that oxy's are really hard. I'm taking morphine ms contin 60mg ea -but tapering now. I also take percs when out of the other. Or vice versa. It's a crazy cycle. Anyway I'm not going back on the percs- just tapering from the morph right now and will be done with this sh*$ after that.
So the question is- is it all about the same as far as w/d time or are some more difficult and last longer? I know when I've taken vic's- they were (for me), like taking an advil. So weak- I guess because my DOC was so much stronger and my tolerance was higher than many peoples. But I'm just curious if ther's some sort of order (difficult to most difficult)?

thanks so much- strange that xanax is stronger than valium. I've taken both in the past and find that valium REALLY relaxed me and hit me- whereas xanax really did nothing but make me sleepy and they were the strong ones too! I've never had a problem with them though- so am not worried at all about another addiction. But as I said- I have NO idea if I'll even feel wd's after I taper down and then jump. So if and only IF I feel horrible- I'll then consider something such as valium to help me relax for just a few days. I just don't want them to prolong anything. But as you said they're recommended on the Thomas Recipe. Thanks so much again! And I will keep posting about my progress.

Have u read the thomas recipe?  It actually recommends valium during the first week or 2 of detox...I used valium...i would take lil pieces during the day when I felt anxious..I did not use it to sleep tho..I used phenergan to sleep
xanax is the strongest benzo of the bunch//avoid it if u can..valium has a reputation cos it was the firtst benzo on the market//in reality it is not near as strong as xanax//ativan and klonopin r the 2nd strongest benzos...

we do what we gotta do..course if u have a tendencey to abuse benzos then it is a bad idea to take valium..i did not..not that i wouldnt love to have a valium everytime i got stressed out! (:   kidding but u know what i mean..i never felt like i wanted to go buy benzos..the main thing in my opinion//for me anyway and we r all different//is to get thru the week or so we gotta get thru the best we can...without picking up another bad habit..and that is very do-able..sleep is important to recovery//plus if we panic or feel anxious,,we become weak..during this very risky time where feeling bad could cause relapse...i think we just gotta use our brain..and do what we gotta do to reach our goals..and also remember to never ever let those goals get awya from us again

keep us posted

So do you think tha tonce I'm done with my taper - I will still have SOME wd's? It's fine if I do! Just a question. And IF I'm feeling crappy- can I take valium of xanax to help for just a few days? Or do u think tha twould prolong things?

Okay......As a rule///narcotics are safe to stop CT//unless u r elderly and have a severe heart condition or in very poor health//then I would have my doctor assist///narcotic wd never killed anyone//most addicts suk at tapering so CT becomes their only choice..and congrats to any addict who completed a successful taper!  I admire ur discipline!
So much depends on dose and ur DOC...plus will power as stopping narcotics has alot to do with mind over matter in the long run
Benzos, nor high doses of tramadol, should never be stopped CT..they must be tapered...for many, CT is the only way many of us can let go of narcotics ///not counting going on a maintenence drug like methadone or suboxone//as that is not really CT-ing narcotics as u r still taking one//both of these drugs r either taken for a very short amount of time//or if taken for a long time//tapering off is the way to go on both of these drugs due to the long half life of these 2 drugs
Please be safe and do not get discouraged..what u r trying to do is very do-able,.,hang tight

I wouldn't say morphine is my DOC- it's just what I take to be "normal" at this point and it's usually all I can get. Not that at this point I'd WANT to be able to get anything else. But I want to thank you for actually answering my question without giving me a whole run around about a bunch of preaching that I already KNOW. It was trictly asked out of curiosity- as well as hoping the morphine would somehow be easier on me to kick. NOT and I repeat NOT so I can run out and find the stronger med!
So again thanks- you made sense to me completely.

What is ur DOC?  Morphine?
In reality all of the drugs u named are realtively close in strength mg per mg....chewing, snorting, or shooting drugs makes it tougher to stop....time released drugs like MS contin in reality, if swallowed are easier to stop as they do not have the quick onset and quick downward curve hydros or percs have..oxycontin is also a time release drug/a form of percs//both being oxycodone....oxycontin is hard to stop for an addict as a rule cos they do not swallow it whole./they chew it or snort it..breaking the time release coating on the pill....an 80 mg oxycontin is no stronger than 80 mgs of percocet//both contain 80 mgs of oxycodone..so I guess it just depends on how u look at it
If u swallow ur MS Contin whole//u r probably off to a better start than a lortab/hydro user of the same strength...thing is it is hard to taper with MS Contin//cos if u break it then u have broken the time release aspect of the pill
