withdrawel from vicodin

I am an addict to vicodin.  I just informed my family and am stopping cold turkey yesturday.  I also am starting an outpatient program on Monday.  Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can take over the counter of course that will help me get through the withdrawel symptoms.  I read that you can raise your seratonin levels and that may help.  Please anyone!!!!!

Also don't get down on yourself you may have had a set back but you can get back on the boat of moving forward again! Just keep faith. I probably would have done the same thing! :)

Good luck and if you need anything I am a click away! hehe

You will get the runs. Get emodium ad that works great. to pills and you are back to normal. eat a lot of fiber too.... for the sweets you get there really isn't anything. all you can do is work through it. but get some motrin and take 2 every 4 hours that will cut out the pain your brain will give you for that. I know how it is because I went through the same thing. I was on vicoden for over 3 years i was getting 350 pills a month from my dr because of the issues i have with my back. but you i decided it was to much and my brain was telling me i had more pain then what i really had. its all a mind game. you can get through it. if you do feel pain. jump in a hot bath. that will stop it. Thats what i did. I am no dr and i cant tell you what you should or shouldn't do but I can tell you what worked for me and it could work for you.

I hope things work out for you. Vicoden is no fun. All it does is kill your liver and kidneys as you go along. really not worth it.

Good luck.

I've havent taken anything in 24 hours and I know that isn't long, but it is for me.  At the moment the only thing that I feel is I have no appetite and I cant sit still.  I have to keep getting up and walking around.  When I get up I'm dizzy.  How long before I start withdrawal?

I don't know of any over the counter medicines.  Why not going to the er so you can do this safely and comfortably?  It can be vicious.
