I just read some of your comments, and sympathize with you.I have gone thru something simalar.Like muffincakes said stay far away from the narcotics (vicoden, percs oxys). If your Dr. offers to prescribe anything make sure to ask if it is addictive Because there are drugs out there that work wonders, but sadly some are addictive, and even if your Dr. says its addictive. What they dont tell you is How bad the withdrawls are going to be.Ive been clean for about 5 weeks from wich started out to be vicoden acoup;e times a day then percocet a few times a day, then oxycontin and percs a few times a day.my doc started prescribing these before she even new what was causing the headaches.actually she put me on the oxys after we found out I had Chiari malformation wich was causing most of the headaches/migraines/neckpain/muscle tightness/fatigue.I'm not going to tell you the meds wernt helpful, because they were in the begining. When my Dr. said they were addictive,I told her that I didnt have an addictive personality.Wich I dont, but what I didnt realize is that they are physicly addictive, and have been going thru some serious wthdrawls for 5 weeks.I asked my doc this week if I could try nuerontin and she said "Didnt we try that before?" Sadly we didnt try that 1st.I have only been on it for a few days but I hear it saposed to work pretty good, and will let you know how well after ive been on it for a while. Please try to exaust all other efforts, narcotic withdrawls are a living nightmare.your going thru enough as it is you dont need that too.I also have a thyroid disease. That was found a few years ago, that hasnt been too fun either. But anyway it sounds like we are kinda dealin with some of the same things, and I'm right here with ya,just hang in there, and let me know how you are doing.                                MYHELL

Hi, I have fibromyaligia and also bipolar disorder. I have been on most of the antidepressants, and they all have horrible withdrawal effects. Sometimes it can take up to three months for all the symptoms to disappea. In my experience, for the withdrawal first, is to take a low milligram of Prozac, for instance 10mg every other day, and then start to taper off of that as your Dr. recommends. As far as the pain of Fibromyaligia, narcotics are not the way to go. Depakote which is a anitseiure medication, helps nerve pain in the body.  It also helps mood and depression. Low doses of another mood stabilizer Neurontin, also can help the pain of migraines and Fibromyaligia. I am currently taking 50mg of amitriptyline and 125 mg of Depakote and I have had hardly any pain at all. Swimming also improves the pain and muscle tone. I hope I could be of help.

Suggest you get back on a smaller dose, just above the withdrawal level and then go to this site and get yourself the Recipe and get on it too.
