Hi miss1521.
In primary adrenal insufficiency, from a low baseline cortisol your levels should increase up to about double after the ACTH Stim, so your results seem to be consistent with this.
As for your serum thyroid results, you may have secondary hypothyroid to
primary adrenal insufficiency, or both secondary and primary hypothyroid.
Your test results are not clearly indicative of cellular thyroid function, however, they indicate hypothyroid, nonetheless.
T3 if it is not Free T3, it indicates both bound and unbound levels and
TSH has very low diagnostic value, to my opinion.
Best tests besides Basal Temperature Testing, is Free T3, Free T4 & Reverse T3. All these 3 are needed!
Correcting the suspected primary adrenal insufficiency, could be a challenge for a few reasons.
If your results are interpreted as sub-clinical by a conventional Endocrinologist, there's a likelihood, you will not receive appropriate treatment, as it sub-clinical low adrenal function is not recognized!
Key to restoring adrenal function, is a comprehensive balanced approach incorporating lifestyle changes, diet, glandular and herbal supplements with continuous monitoring and dose tweaking according to symptoms and improvement or lack of improvement. This is time consuming and not within the scope of conventional doctors practice.
So, if you're not dealing with a Natural Health Practitioner, knowledgeable in Adrenal and thyroid issues, I strongly suggest, you look for one soon!
Treating secondary Hypothyroidism is very delicate, as the adrenals down-regulate thyroid function, for adrenal function recovery purposes.
Ignoring this and treating the thyroid only, usually backfires, after a temporary improvement.
I hope this helps, however, my comments and suggestions are not intended as a replacement for medical advice.
Best wishes.
Niko
